Essential strings for the heavy player looking for the heaviest tones!
Great strings for playing those heavy dropped tunings. Almost unplayable at concert pitch because they're far too tight (if you could tune them that high without breaking them), but they are not MEANT to be played with a tuning that high. Tune a whole step down, though, and they are VERY playable, because that's what they're made for! Be warned though: once you have had these on your guitar for a while, you won't be able to put on a regular set of strings without adjusting your truss rod. However, stick with them and your guitar will sound like a real beast! Used with Active pickups with heavy distortion and they're growling like a bear, but played with a clean tone they're quite mellow and almost soulful. I don't want any other gauge on my Peavey now, these strings give me the tone I want and still remain playable (I tried tuning a regular gauge down a whole step, but they were really loose and rattly). If you're a heavy player and like a deep, deep tone, these are for you!

The best strings I've ever tried!
I've tried a load of strings but when I found Dunlop strings I was in love. I play a lot of metal in either E or EB and I drop tune all the time. These strings have been the best for those tunings. Unless you want to go lower in tuning, these are the perfect middle ground for a good sounding bass end and an amazing sounding high end. I would definitely recommend them every time!

Perfect for Standard Tuning
These are my perfect standard tuning strings! Thick and articulate low strings, with high strings still easy enough to bend. Sure, 80’s hair metal guys may find them too tough, but for playing RHCP they are perfect. The ball ends are rock solid. I sought D’Addario for years, until the high e end started unwinding. Twice in a row. Now I’m a convert!

Solid strings that last ages
I use heavy gauge at d standard with a 1.5mm jazz3. Really good combo but it's hard to get a nice tone at low volume.

always loved the tone i got with them meaty and ballsy ...
been using dunlop heavy core for a while now almost 3 years, always loved the tone i got with them meaty and ballsy on the low end and a nice crisp and warm tone on the high end. never had them snap on me and the tension never lessens and always feels amazing when drop tunning

Good for D standard.
I play in D standard on a 25.5" scale Telecaster and these strings are almost spot on in terms of tension for me. The only limiting factor is the vintage tuners on my guitar prevent me from using anything thicker than a .48, but in terms of overall tension the rest of the set is stellar, perfect if you like to really chug away at the bass strings but still like the ease of movement when it comes to faster sections on the trebles. If I want to play in drop C then the .48 is far too sloppy but that's to be expected. I'll definitely purchase a thicker set when I get around to replacing the tuners!

Langlebige, im Tuning sehr stabile Saiten, bei mir in der 10-48-Variante auf diversen Gitarren seit ca. 15 Jahren im Einsatz.

Sound great, clear but warm. Let's the midst and highs cut through. Great sustain. Take lots of abuse from the Floyd, and still hold tune. Last a while as well. Highly recommend for low tunings.
