this was a perfectly acceptible striker plate to replace on an old interior door. it was a terrible original installation and the had put a flat edged striker plate that kept catching the bolt and only giving it like a 1/16" tolerance. simply replacing the striker plate with this one fixed my issue and not is closes so much more reliable without me having to preemptively turn the knob before closing.

I made the mistake of throwing away the strike plate that came with my door handle to my shop. Don’t know why I did, but somehow I figured I really didn’t need the strike plate. What I didn’t realize is that the strike plate (because of the beveled angle on the edge) helps the door to close immeasurably easier. This was exactly what I needed, and it installed in less than five minutes. Oh, and the door closes perfectly now! I also really appreciate that this came in in just a few days, and that they included a second one for my next screwup.

Disclaimer: I'm not a DIY guy. I decided to buy it due for some reason one of my doors did not have a Strike Plate. I was worried it would not fit but it did! And, yeah it did it's job. No more door slams! (Not on purpose anyway! It only looks weird being the only sliver strike plate in the house but hey, this was a fair price!
