Pokémon TCG: Lucario ex Battle Deck (Ready-to-Play 60-Card Deck)

Pokémon make a number of products aimed at learning how to play Pokémon the Card Game (also referred to as simply TCG). This is a ‘1 Pokéball’ pack ( as seen by the single Pokémon ball on the front bottom left of the pack), meaning it’s designed for someone just learning how to play the game, as opposed to a serious player, or someone just collecting the cards. In TCG there are 2 players, each having a full deck of 60 cards. This box contains one full deck of 60, so for one player. It consists firstly of one key character card , Amphoros Ex, MewTwo Ex, Chien Pao Ex or Lucario Ex in this case, depending on the deck pack bought. (These single cards are special promo cards, highly collectible, and collectors do buy these packs, remove that single card, and sell the rest of the pack on, so do take care of that featured card). Then there are a mix of other character cards, plus some energy cards (you can’t make any moves without energy) and some supporter cards, that get you out of a jam or speed things up. There will be several of some cards, as you start play with only 7 cards at first, the rest being in the deck etc. For this reason someone just collecting the cards will find duplicates. It’s also not ideal for someone playing competitively as the cards inside don’t have enough of the more recent, or high level cards (they would be better off with a Battle League pack, which is a 3 Pokéball pack so for more advanced players - and of course is more expensive ). However for most fairly new players this is a great starting point. There is a good range of cards in each pack, you can play straight away (assuming you have an opponent also with a full deck!) they are great value compared to single card packs, and you can use them as a basis to learn how to customise your own deck as you go along. I’ve bought 6 now (three for me!) and have found them all excellent value. PS If never played TCG before then I’d recommend the Pokémon Academy - also on Amazon - that talks you through the game, step by step, and includes a playing board and three starter decks, then following on with these battle packs.

As someone who plays the Pokémon TCG (both casually and competitively), I highly recommend the Lucario ex Battle Deck. It strikes the perfect balance for both new players and veterans looking for a fun, focused deck right out of the box. For Beginners: This is truly "Ready-to-Play." The deck is well-constructed and immediately teaches you core mechanics, especially the power of Pokémon ex cards. Lucario ex is a strong, straightforward attacker, and the deck includes enough Trainer cards to help keep your strategy consistent. It's a fantastic, low-barrier way to jump into the game and start battling immediately—no complex deck building required! For Experienced Players: While it's a pre-built deck, Lucario ex is a solid starting point for a fighting-type strategy. The deck provides excellent foundation cards that are great for casual play or for using as a skeleton to upgrade with other singles (like better consistency Trainers or more specialized energy). The Lucario ex card itself is very powerful and fun to use. Overall, whether you're buying this for a child (like my son, Theo, who loved the Vulpix line included!) or for yourself, this deck is great value. It's competitive enough to win against other pre-built decks and features a fan-favorite Pokémon. A definite buy!

I bought this pre-built deck to help my son get into playing the Pokemon TCG. The deck is very easy to understand and play and it taught him enough that he managed to come second in a tournament at our local card shop. He is very happy with it.

It’s a very good price for a full deck, the deck is good as well and works well with the ampharos deck, as well as this it contains counters and playmats as well, overall an incredible package
