Amazon Basics Coloured Pencils in Tin Box, Pack of 36 - Assorted Colours

Really impressed with these Amazon Basics Coloured Pencils. The colours are bright, vibrant, and nicely pigmented, which makes drawings look rich without needing to press too hard. They came pre-sharpened and ready to use straight out of the box, which was a great bonus. The pencils feel sturdy and well-made, with smooth cores that glide easily on paper and blend surprisingly well for this price range. I’ve found they layer nicely too, so you can build depth and shading without the paper getting scratched up. Breakage has been minimal, even when sharpening, which usually says a lot about the quality of the core. Overall, these are excellent value for money — ideal for anyone who wants reliable, good-quality coloured pencils without spending a fortune. I’d definitely buy them again.

Lovely set of pencils with the tin, I have chosen the 48 pencils set and it’s really lovely you have plenty of lovely colours and shades, even one silver and one gold pencils, ideal for Christmas coming up ! I will get more for my children so they leave mine alone 😅😅 A very good set for beginners like me, I don’t know what more advanced artists would say but I love them, the texture is very creamy and can be easily blended. The tin keeps everything together and is smart looking and practical, keeps your pencils safer than most pencils case. The only thing is a pencil sharpener would be appreciated in the tin, I’d personally be happy paying a bit more to have a pencil sharpener included but it’s a great functional pencil set.

I bought these, having heard good reports of them from other artists. Many bargain products fall short on quality but these pencils really do not disappoint. I already own a set of Derwent Coloursoft pencils which are very waxy and soft and I've struggled with these. I recently also purchased a smaller set of Faber Castell Polychromos which, unlike these two other sets, are oil based rather than wax based, so are harder. The Amazon Basics fall more or less between the ultra-soft Derwents and the hard Polychromos so I think I have all bases covered now. The Amazon pencils layer beautifully and respond very well to a light touch, and there's a huge range of colours. There is a good choice for blending skin tones too. They seem to be very high quality. They come in a tin with removable trays but I don't like these as they are rather flimsy. I had the same problem with the Derwent Coloursoft pencils and bought a case from Amazon for those, so I bought the identical case in a different colour for the new Amazon pencils - a neat and compact case which holds 72 pencils and has pockets inside the case for your bits and pieces. All but one of the "pages" are attached with Velcro so are removable, which is handy. Amazon - please take note of this - artists do require open stock availability as some pencils get a lot more use than others. Apart from this, very thrilled with this set of pencils which are extremely good value for such a high quality product.

Ok so I definitely recommend these pencils because my old set of pencils was really nice but all of the colours were pretty light and not super pigmented but these had some more saturated darker colours mixed in with lighter ones my old set didn't really have a great purple but this set has 3. The only thing I wish was different is the tips are a little big and sometimes it was a bit hard to draw precise straight lines with them but it wasn't much of a problem and they are definitely still really good. The price is good for what you are getting. The grip is pretty standard its good and they would be really good for colouring books but maybe not the best for small little detailed parts. Also it's not a problem that it doesn't have a pencil sharpener with the set but it would have been a nice little addition (one thing the pictures I put of the actual pencils this is not the order they came in I rearranged them to look like this)

Franchement, je ne m’attendais pas à une telle qualité pour des crayons de couleur Amazon Basics. Dès l’ouverture, la boîte en métal fait sérieuse et protège parfaitement les crayons — pratique et élégante à la fois. Les 36 couleurs sont riches, bien pigmentées et très variées : parfaites aussi bien pour le coloriage détente que pour le dessin plus précis. Les crayons glissent facilement sur le papier, se mélangent bien entre eux et ne cassent pas au premier taillage (gros point positif ). Que ce soit pour un adulte, un ado ou même un enfant soigneux, c’est un excellent rapport qualité/prix. J’ai déjà utilisé des marques bien plus chères qui ne faisaient pas mieux. En résumé : solides, belles couleurs, agréable à utiliser et boîte pratique. Je recommande sans hésiter et je rachèterai quand ils seront usés !

Kurzrezension vorneweg: den Preis auf jeden Fall wert, sehr gut pigmentierte, weiche Buntstifte, gute Farbauswahl, okaye Qualität und für Anfänger beim ernsthaften Zeichnen mit Buntstiften eingeschränkt empfehlenswert, denn sie sind wirklich extrem weich und nicht gut für Details geeignet. Laberrezension: Ich habe die Stifte in der Black Week noch etwas billiger bekommen als die jetzigen ~15€ und war sehr gespannt, was da kommt, weil die Meinungen im Internet doch weit auseinandergehen. Und dann kamen die Buntstifte an, sehr gut und sicher verpackt und in einer soliden, schlichten Blechschachtel. Erster Eindruck nach dem Öffnen: sie riechen. Leider nicht nach Holz und Wachs, wie ich es bei den teuren Marken kenne und liebe, sondern nach Lack. Nicht unangenehm, aber deutlich und nach mehrfacher Nutzung des Kastens ist der Geruch auch leider noch nicht sehr verflogen. Die Lackierung der Stifte ist passabel, das Holz sieht ok aus (nichts gespalten, gesplittert oder extrem rau), die Minen sind nicht besonders gut zentriert, es ist aber kein Stift dabei, der deswegen nicht nutzbar wäre. Die Minen sind recht dick, die Stifte an sich relativ dünn und ich sehe weder eine extra Schutzschicht um die Mine, noch sind die Enden der Stifte nochmal in Lack gedippt... die Minen könnten also recht bruchempfindlich sein, wenn die Stifte runterfallen. Was die runde Form begünstigt. Die Stifte haben Farbnamen und Farbnummern. Keine Angaben zur Lichtechtheit, also gehen wir einfach mal davon aus, dass sie nicht besonders lichtecht sind. Und jetzt holen wir endlich mal das Papier raus und probieren die Dinger aus. In meinem Fall schnödes Druckerpapier und Clairefontaine Paint'On Recyclé. Und wir haben 69 Gewinner. Weiche bis extrem weiche Buntstifte, wirklich satt pigmentiert, null Bruch beim Anspitzen. Die Farben entsprechen meistens der Lackierung der Buntstifte und sind wirklich schön und klar. Schichten funktioniert erstaunlich gut. Ausreißer sind das Blue Grey, das wirklich erbärmlich kratzig ist und die beiden Metallicfarben. Bei denen habe ich aber bekommen, was ich nach bisherigen Erfahrungen erwartet habe: kein nennenswerter Metalliceffekt und kratzig, kratzig, kratzig. Wie schon erwähnt: die Stifte sind weich. Sehr weich. Ich habe bisher mit den Polychromos und mit etwas weicheren Buntstiften im mittleren Preissegment gezeichnet. Also bin ich es gewönht, eine relativ stabile Spitze zu haben und detailliert zeichnen zu können... und viel Farbe in Schichten aufs Papier zu bringen dauert seine Zeit. Und bei den Amazon Basics muss man schon fast aufpassen, nicht zu viel Farbe aufzulegen und hat im nu große Flächen nahtlos und brilliant bunt. Dafür sind Details schwierig und die Minen sind so weich, dass man sehr viel Gekrümel auf dem Papier hat. Ich habe als Vergleich nur meinen einen einsamen Caran d'Ache Luminance in Weiß. Einige der Amazon Basic-Buntstifte sind ähnlich weich und noch weicher, haben nicht ganz das "buttrige" Malgefühl des Luminance, aber fast. Die Minen bröseln leichter, die einzelnen Schichten sind aber "offener" und nicht so wachsig wie beim Luminance (ist das verständlich?). Wenn man nicht bis Ultimo layert, kann man noch sehr gut Details mit härteren Buntstiften einarbeiten, auch gute Fineliner halten. Mein Fazit: als einzige Buntstifte wären sie mir zu weich, in Kombination mit harten Buntstiften wirklich gut und empfehlenswert. Zu beachten ist natürlich, dass es die Stifte nur im Set gibt und aufgrund der Weichheit der Mine werden sich die beliebtesten Farben schnell aufbrauchen. Zum Reinschnuppern in die Welt der Profibuntstifte sind sie super. Auf Dauer macht es sicher Sinn, die aufgebrauchten Farben nach und nach durch gute Buntstifte zu ersetzen, die man auch einzeln nachkaufen kann. Aber ansonsten sind diese Buntstifte das Geld allemal wert, man macht nichts falsch beim Kauf (zumindest finanziell...) und sie machen wirklich Spaß! Happy Drawing!
