OnePlus 5T Case, TUDIA Slim-Fit Heavy Duty [Merge] Extreme Protection/Rugged but Slim Dual Layer Case for OnePlus 5T (2017 Version)(Metallic Slate)

Nearly perfect case. This is my second Tudia case (my original being for the original OnePlus One). I like the look of it, and the two part system allows me to slip in my magnetic plate between the two layers so I get a good grip on my phone holder in my car. Once I adjusted the case and made sure it was covering my phone properly, the buttons did not feel too mushy - They did at first, like another reviewer on here, but after I pushed the case into place a second time and made sure it was on all the way, the mushy went away. The front comes up a bit so you can lay the phone face down and have the screen not get scratched from laying on a desk, etc. The edges/cuts are done in a way where it's not too noticeable on the fingers. I may sand down the edges around the power connector ever so slightly because I tend to use my pinky finger to hold the phone from slipping out of my hand when looking at it when the phone is vertical, so my pinky finger naturally rests right where the cut out for the power cut out is. Not a big deal, and may be fine for most people, I just have sensitive fingers perhaps. The power cable fits in snuggly with the case on, and the camera lens's are now also protected as the back of the case rises up a bit to protect the cameras. Lastly, and what makes this a true 5 star case for me, is the way they beveled the cutout for where the fingerprint reader is. It was always a bit awkward to try and "find" the fingerprint reader on the back of the phone with my finger when I was looking at the phone from the front. Now with the way the case adds a small beveled (angled) inlet around the fingerprint reader, my finger naturally knows where to go and using the fingerprint reader is now more intuitive. It may only be a half second difference of trying to "find" the fingerprint opening/reader with the stock OEM case or no case, but when you use the fingerprint reader several times a day, it certainly adds up and makes it feel more intuitive and natural to use.

As anyone checking the review for this product will probably know, it's "been a minute" since the OnePlus 5T was released. I had purchased a carbon fiber type case directly from OnePlus when I originally order back in November 2017. While the phone has now been relegated to use as a secondary device, it is still functional and used almost daily. The original case, however, had started splitting along the edges and it seemed like the phone might slip out. This case fit perfectly and seems even sturdier than my original. I'm am relatively confident it will last as long as the OnePlus is functional. No problems with button, camera, or fingerprint reader operation. Lightweight and enough lip around the face I am not concerned about setting the phone face down, yet it does not interfere with use.

Really like this case, I have been waiting for a company to make a sturdy phone case for the 5T. The TPU is thick around the edges and corner and fits on the phone snug. The polycarbonate plastic gives a satisfying snap giving you the sense of assurance that the plastic piece won't come off, and it does feel that way. Also, the PC backing gives the feel back to your hand, the smooth and sleek feel which I prefer over the feel of TPU. The overall look and the matte black makes the case subtle yet there and not stand out. The TPU buttons, I like the feel when pressing the power but not so much for the volume, it has a little more resistance but probably will break in over time. The cutout for the slider though is a little hard to access, I have big fingers and need my other hand to get to it, unlike when the phone was naked and I'd just use the index finger of the hand that's holding the phone. Finger scanner will feel a little awkward at first since the recess is more pronounced than the cases the OEM OnePlus provides. This case is glass screen protector friendly, although, I wished the phone was more recessed in the case or there was a higher lip in case when the phone is dropped screen down.

I've had this case for a while now (a couple of months) and it's held up really well. I try not to make a habit of dropping my phone obviously, but it has happened twice in the time that I've had this case. One was a relatively minor fall that most cases would have protected the phone just fine in, and this one did too. The other drop was out of my car onto the pavement face down. Not a scratch on the phone or the case! Great value case for the money

I wanted a case that felt like the OEM cases from OnePlus; which were very thin, but also quite sturdy. This case feels like it provides a lot of protection, but it also doesn't get in the way of using the phone. Swiping the fingerprint reader is still easy to do, and the buttons are still easy to press.

The case is slippery. Offers very minimum protection on the front while the back offers excellent protection. The hugest downfall is that the case is very slippery. I am very disappointed and will return this case.

It's easy to install. The outermost layer is rubbery which isn't super comfortable, but makes it harder to drop, even in medium rain. Slips into men's front pockets on pants or into an inside jacket pocket. (If you like to put stickers on your things, don't put a sticker on the phone case because while the sticker may come off, the sticker's adhesive may not. This is an excellent product but don't put stickers on it.)

I decided to buy 2 cases because of the deals they had going on and I'm very satisfied with how the cases looked when they arrived. PROS: - The case covers the phone all around and has nice deep cutouts to protect the camera, finger print scanner, charger port, earphone jack, and speakers. The cut outs do not hinder the charging cable or earphone plug when you plug it in. - I like that I can detach the exterior polycarbonate layer from the TPU. This gives me the opportunity to slip a magnetic plate in-between the layers in order to use my phone mount in my car. - The button to click the power button feels nice and is not hard to push. Although, the buttons on the volume buttons feel a bit harder to push but I feel like that's to be expected for a new case. - Overall, the cases feel very sturdy and nice to the touch. CONS: - Having the deep cutouts is extremely important for protection, but the cut out for the alert slider is so deep that I kinda have to depend on using my nails to slide it up and down. (This is not an extreme con for me but it may be difficult for other users so it was worth mentioning.) - I wish the case was a little bit more raised around the front of the screen. As you can see in my pictures, it's just barely there. Note: I am using the official OP tempered glass screen protector and yes the case is compatible with it. Despite listing a couple of cons, I am still very satisfied with the case itself. It has a beautiful design and offers nice protection. The only thing that I would be worried about in the future is the fact that it's not as raised around the screen as I would prefer it to be, and for that I will rate this phone case as 4 stars instead of 5.
