Reliable quality - keep reordering for years
I've ordered multiple pairs over the years - these are consistently well-made, comfortable shoes. The fit is true to size, cushioning holds up well with daily wear, and they look professional. Quality construction that lasts. Good value and I keep coming back to this model.

Definitely a must if you on your feet all day
Super comfortable for a dress shoe. Especially if you on your feet 12 to 15 hour shifts. They good by themselves but better with a insert. And they wide.

Just ordered 3rd pair- have only worn 1 pair
My husband works 45-50 hours/week in the produce department of a grocery store. They are required to have non-slip shoes. Since he is in management, he cannot wear shoes that look like athletic shoes so we have to find business shoes that fit the bill. He wore Rockport for 2 years- until they discontinued his shoe. (That shoe would last almost 6 months, so we were used to spending $120/year on his work shoes. ) When I saw his shoe was discontinued, I started the search for another durable pair- which seems to be a very difficult task these days. I found a $54 pair that looked similar to the Rockports from a department store. They looked nice but that soon faded as they broke down, almost instantly. Adding $15 inserts helped them limp to making almost 3 months of wear. During this time, I was on the search- again- for shoes. About the time I thought it was a losing battle, I came across the Dr. Scholl’s dress shoes. I remember being so excited and saying, “I didn’t know Dr. Scholl’s made non-slip DRESS shoes!!” (Before management, my husband’s favorite pair of shoes were the Dr. Scholl’s non-slip walking shoes.) I ordered 2 pair with with confidence, secure in my trust in the Dr. Scholl’s brand. (And also happy there was a coupon, making them $40/pair. ) I was a bit hesitant about the look of the shoe because my husband is more old-school and leans more to a loafer type shoe and always complained that this look of shoe looked “oafy.” The day the shoes came, he was at work. When he came home for lunch, I showed him the shoes and he immediately kicked off the tragic pair, put on the Dr. Scholl’s, stood up and said, “Wow! These feel awesome!” He has plantar fasciitis that he usually has to use inserts if the arch isn’t good enough. He didn’t need the inserts and went back to work. When he came home, I asked how the shoes felt- he looked down and said, “I haven’t even thought about my feet since having these on so I have to say, ‘Great!’ “ I asked how he thought they looked and he said he actually liked them- that they felt sturdier than the Rockport loafers and this pair didn’t look oafy like others. That was December 24, 2020. I am writing this on May 21, 2021 and he is still wearing the same pair. They do show signs of wear (he’s hard on his shoes: unloading product from the delivery truck, stocking, cleaning, etc.) but a bi-monthly cleaning and polishing brings back the luster. The shoes themselves haven’t broken down yet and have a lot more wear left than the Rockports would have at this point. I was looking at my past orders the other day and there was a $10 off coupon for this pair of Dr. Scholl’s shoes so I ordered another pair. (I don’t want them to be discontinued and not have any.) We now have 2 pair in reserve for him once these finally give out. (I always give the shoes a good looking over and make him try on the new shoes before storing them to ensure everything is good.) We have put a pair of the plantar fasciitis inserts in the shoes recently to keep his arch up. (He broke his femur in high school and that foot is really hard on arches since it rolls in more than it should.) That just reminded me that these shoes DON’T stink!! The crap pair before these and even the Rockports would get the most pungent smell!! I haven’t had to spray or put any powder in these shoes at all- so there’s a huge plus for me! He has worn a size 9, regular (medium) width for over 35 years and these shoes are true to size. I know how important shoes are- not just for your feet but for your back too. A good pair of work shoes is a must and not something to skimp on. Thankfully, Dr. Scholl’s is keeping the bar high with these by making a great pair of shoes that last and offering them at a very reasonable price. From now on, we’re sticking with Dr. Scholl’s!

Fits as expected & extremely comfortable. (w/2.5yr update)
I've always been a 10.5 and these fit perfectly. They are extremely comfortable and definitely slip resistant. I went walking onto a marble floor just out of the rain and watched someone else slip and fall, while these were firmly gripped. The one thing that I should point out is that these things will keep your feet EXTREMELY warm... I'm talking like a heat box. As we're going into Autumn, it's a welcomed feature, but I don't know how well I'm going to like that in the summer! I'll wait to see how durable they are, as longevity is second only to comfort in my list of importance. Will update this review if I eventually buy another pair, but so far I definitely would. UPDATE: After 2-1/2 years I'm still wearing the same pair of shoes. I've got a desk job, and pretty much wear these every day to work and to places on weekends. A couple things to note... I put the gel inserts into the bottoms as the bottoms were getting worn out. Also, I don't unlace them and I use a shoehorn to put them on, so the laces and back have really held up. You'll see from the picture the soles are still attached and not peeling away from each other. There's some wear on the leather that could probably be cleaned up with a shine kit, but it's also worth noting I'm in the Northeast, so these have gone through a lot of Winter saltings and the leather is just fine. If I could give these 6 stars, I would. UPDATE #2: I'm coming up on 4 years with these black shoes, and I'm on my 2nd set of the Dr. Scholl's gel inserts. I bought the shoes in brown also about 1.5 years ago, so the black ones aren't getting as much usage as the first 2-3 years. HOWEVER!!! They're still holding up fine! With the new insoles, they're like new... but still as comfortable as ever. As with all shoes/sneakers I own, I use a metal shoehorn because it's always back by the heel/achilles that fails first on quality shoes. With these, I suspect the first failure will be that thin layer of rubber tread on the soles detaching, but that'll be due to how I take them off (using one shoe/foot to take off the other). Update #3: Almost 6 years later! About a year and a half ago these became my yardwork shoes. I'm pretty active so these got a lot of wear and tear. Today they finally popped! Through mud, woods, climbing all over the house... Tough shoes to lay this long with me! Conclusion: I really can't say enough about the quality and durability of these comfortable shoes. It was money well spent on these.

Bad purchase don’t buy.
These are terrible shoes. The original doctor school’s used to have real leather uppers. The construction is now cheap and the size is still fitting. I have bought these for many years and in the past year, the quality of these has completely disappeared. Obviously, Dr. Schultz is selling out and producing an inferior product now don’t buy these shoes.

Solid yet comfortable slip resistant work shoes.
7-9 hour shifts 5 days a week working service bar and waiting tables; after a month they seem to be holding up well. Feet stay dry even when getting sloshed with beer or pulling wet glass racks out of the washer. Shoes broke in by the second shift. Good slip resistance, just remember to keep the grooves between the tread clear or you lose traction (just drag your feet across something rough if you walk through something gross). Bumpy faux leather upper is not my cup of tea aesthetically, but it hides the crease you normally get on the front of your shoe, and also the inevitable scuffs.
