Aqua Natural Galaxy Sand Bio-Substrate 5lb for Aquariums, Sand seeded with Start up bio-Active nitrifying Bacteria

I’ve really enjoyed this substrate. I mixed it with my old substrate (which was a mix of sand + small gravel substance) when I upgraded tanks and I like the look of this one a lot. It’s more of a fine sand texture and a really beautiful sparkly black. My plants and ADFs seem to love it. It’s already a bit wet in the bag (they recommend not rinsing it) so it was easy to place into my tank that already had water in it. I love that it has beneficial bacteria to help the tank cycle too. It did make my water a bit cloudy for about ~2 days but this cleared up on its own with time.

I have used this in every single tank I own, betta, corydora, pleco, shrimp and loaches. They all love it! It helps the cycle process and helps keep plants nice and healthy. Kudos for the glittery specks that look beautiful under the lights

My aquarium has 12 goldfish ( fancy ) and a few pleco's. I have a very nice filter, but I could not get the water to clear up. Read about this product and within a few days, this substrate made a massive change - clearing up the cloudy-ness and now it is crystal clear. Buying a second because I LOVE the look of solid black substrate.

Beautiful sand the black is so sparkly. I love it, but it came with a surprise. A few snails were in the bag. Don’t love that.

Nice black color, shrimp look good with it. Supposedly bioactive and doesn't need to be cleaned, if put down properly had no water clouding, don't know how bioactive it is as I had other things in the tank to seed it as well. Feels like its soft enough for other bottom dwellers.

This bio substrate is really good it filled my 5 gallon but I also added some gravel for my plants. It was cloudy at first but it settled after 24 hours my tank is still cycling since it’s new but I really like how smooth it looks and seems like it sparkles. It is wet substrate so that made it ten time easier than washing it.

Love the color! It looks great! It is also a great consistency and made my plants stay in place, unlike the gravel on its own. Hoping this will help my plants come back to life. It was a bit murky right after adding water, but it was back to normal within a couple of hours. I used it in my 10 gallon tank, it covered the whole bottom and then I layered my gravel on top

i just set up this tank again after my first fish passed away. worried that this sand would cloud and murk up the water but PLEASED it did not at all. i would recommend pouring water in on a paper plate to avoid disturbing the sand. it’s beautiful !!

Left the water a little cloudy but it cleared up overnight. On the bag It said not to rince the sand so I put it in the aquarium a very careful added the water leaving the watercloudy. I put in an extre sponge filter to help clear it up and after about 12 hours ( overnight )it was cristal clear. 1st pictute is 4 hours after adding water, secont picture is this morning. The sand is beautiful , it has a little sparkle to it. Looks amazing! I used 2 bags for my 10 gallon aquarium. One bag would not have been enough

Awesome stuff, looks great and the corys love it, no issues and cleared within a day. Recommend.
