Adjust to Eliminate Bell Shape
If I would have written this review immediately after receiving this coat/jacket, I probably would have only given it two stars, but after experimenting with the size adjuster in the bottom hem, I think it is a four-and-a-half star product. The reason I was disappointed when I first received it (and almost returned it) was because the bottom of the jacket is cut VERY wide and it made me look like a huge bell -- not pleasant! When I realized that there was an adjustment at the back waist, that improved things, but the thing that made it actually look pretty good on me was adjusting the bottom hem, using the "adjuster cord". I had to adjust that by 4-5 inches (that is, reduce the circumference) in order to eliminate the bell effect, but when I did, the effect was amazing. My daughter (who is very critical of clothing fitting right) originally told me to return it, no question, but after seeing the adjustment, she revised her opinion to, "That is one of the most attractive coats you own." That says a lot. Out of the box this coat might work perfectly if you have an extreme pear shape, but for the rest of us, major adjustments need to be made -- thankfully, they built the adjustment feature into the jacket. Other than the fit, the rest of the coat/jacket is absolutely perfect for my use. It is very light weight, can be crushed to pack and comes out perfect, is much warmer than you would think for its very light weight, cuts the wind perfectly, and is also water proof (or maybe it's water resistant, but whatever you call it, it works for me in snow and rain). Columbia could have a REALLY perfect product here, if they would redesign the bottom half of the jacket, but even with that strange cut, it is my favorite winter coat.

AMAZING-est rain jacket
Let me just say that I am not being paid to write this. This is just THE BEST jacket ever. First- I had purchased a trench coat before this and had to buy one with a wool lining, because I live in the Windy City. This coat beats that one in warmth, easily. Secondly, I am a petite person and NO COATS FIT ME. They are always too too too big. This coat is perfect. I'm 5'1, 115 pounds and I ordered an XS and it was perfect. I like things fitted- but if you prefer a little more room underneath to layer- order up. However, I loved it. Perfect size. Thirdly, the color is AMAZING. I ordered the khaki color, and it's SO much nicer in person. The color is almost like a burnt khaki- which I think works better for spring/fall than a light khaki- which only really works for Spring. It IS fleece lined, in a very light little fleece- but it's beneficial to me, since I live in Chi town. Also, the fit is so cute. The empire waist is adorable, and the back is super cute. The hood does have pulls so you can tighten it in the rain. SO pleased. Never even written an Amazon review- that's how pleased I am.

Happy
Haven't tested this is in a downpour yet, but am very happy with my purchase. It acts like a windbreaker and is pretty warm with the fleece lining, but is light enough to wear in the fall. I live in GA and we are just now experiencing chilly winds and I wore this last night and was very happy. It is definitely longer than most jackets, especially on me at 5'3, but that's why I ordered it; I want my tush covered! Per the advice of other reviewers, I ordered one size up and got a large. I would say it's a pretty good fit, as it allows room to layer, but I probably could have gone with a medium (for reference, I weigh about 143). Sleeves are slightly long, but this is insignificant. No complaints though, definitely will keep and wear this jacket often! Can't wait to test this out in more intense weather conditions.

Great value - warm and dry!
This jacket was totally worth the money. Warm and dry, but haven't tested it in torrential rain yet... I wanted something that was warmer than a shell jacket and a bit longer than my hip length jacket. This jacket is a great length (mid thigh on me, 5'3") and fits well. The only issue I have is with the zip, it can be quite hard to start doing it up because it's a double zip and the jacket is longer which makes it harder also. However, it seems to be getting better the more I use it.

I bought this raincoat as it seemed like a very good price for what I was getting
I bought this raincoat as it seemed like a very good price for what I was getting. I have to agree with one of the reviews that the double zipper is extremely difficult to use. I had a hard time zippering it when the coat was on me. So I took it off, and it was still difficult while placing the coat on a flat surface. It seems to be warm enough and it did arrive pretty quick. It also fit pretty loose around the whole jacket except for the very bottom. I usually order a medium, but I ordered a large. I would tell customers to go up in size. I may return it because of the zipper.

Attractive, with a fleece lining that keeps you warm; a bit tight when layering.
I was pleased to find that this jacket was lined with fleece in the body. A bit tight when trying to layer, but I did manage to wear it over a t-shirt, fleecy and down vest (I'm 110, 5'5", and I bought a small). Nice and warm in the Andes! The adjustable "poppers" at the back allow for a more streamlined look when not layering. I liked the length, which was an inch or two below my butt.

) It's a good khaki trench coat color
I'm 5'4" 110lb and the XS is a little big on me, but still ok. I can layer sweaters or a jacket underneath for colder weather. (It's not warm on it's own.) It's a good khaki trench coat color. The back is longer than the front and a little billowy, which I don't love, but that's just a personal preference.

This jacket is a nice lightweight jacket
This jacket is a nice lightweight jacket, wind and rain resistant. I like the long length. I usually wear a small, but bought a medium after reading other reviews about the jacket being a little snug. I'm glad I did! It's nice for cool wet weather, but not for the colder, winter temperatures.
