Great value and does the job
My Telrad gave up the ghost and at nearly £60 to replace I thought I'd give this a go. Very very impressed for the money. Not quite as user friendly as the Telrad as no concentric circles only a red dot, but for the price, it does the job. Very good value for money.

Accurate & easy to use
This is the best Star Pointer I've used, bigger, brighter & much easier to lock onto a celestial target. So good I've got them on 2 of my scopes. An ideal compliment to the traditional Finderscopes which I use in conjunction on a 3 way adapter mount.

Lightweight and really easy to use
Bought as a replacement for my optical finderscope when I need to reduce the overall payload on my travel mount. It is well made and very easy to set up and use. From my experience, the main thing to bear in mind is that it does not magnify and this makes it difficult to locate fainter objects under light polluted skies. I find that it is very useful for alignment on bright stars when setting up my goto mount.

Red dot this time will not go out
When I have bought this Red Dot, in past,( but got rid of it whn wife taken ill.)worked great. But this time it would not turn off. This is a very good product, but man made can fail( this time) I will still give it 10/ 10 . It finds the stars accuratly no messing.

Great Sight, fits my Sky Watcher and is easy to use
I have a Sky Watcher Newtonian telescope so was a bit hesitant to get this for it. The sight is actually really good! It was easy to install the battery and the housing for the foot was a little fiddly but not too bad to figure out. Once attached to the telescope, the sight was really simple to attach and calibrate. The sight gives a nice wide field of view with a bullseye in the middle. The bullseye can be dimmed or brightened as required and the dials for setting during calibration are simple to operate. This would probably suit most telescopes, as there are several footings of different shapes and sizes.

Expensive but Works as Promised
I tried using it for my telescope. It’s a bit pricey, but being a genuine product gives peace of mind. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, helping locate stars without any issues.

So much easier than a finder scope
After using a couple of finder scopes, admittedly of dubious quality, I bought the red dot finder after reading a few recommendations. Easy to set up and align and makes finding visible objects in the night sky a breeze.

Highly Satisfied, Great Buy.
I bought this to replace my old broken pointerscope on my Celestron Firstscope 114EQ and this works very well. The adjustable light is very useful. Comes with many mounts so it would probably fit most telescopes. Extremely easy to adjust. Only took a couple of minutes. 5 stars.

This is one of the better red dot finder scopes. It is specifically for Celestron, but can be used for other brands too

I needed a small, lightweight finder for my Celestron FirstScope. I have Telrads on my two larger scopes, but the Telrad would be rather cumbersome on something as compact as the FirstScope. After doing some online searching, I found the Celestron Star Pointer. Lightweight and reasonably priced, I ordered one, figuring for less than twenty bucks, it was worth a shot. The Star Pointer comes with an assortment of mounting bases, one of which fits the FirstScope well. The base attaches to the scope using the two preinstalled screw posts on the scope tube, and the Star Pointer slides onto a dovetail on the base. Two screws on the side of the Star Pointer tightens the dovetail mount to keep the Star Pointer secure while using. Adjusting the single red dot aiming point is easily accomplished via two small knobs on the Star Pointer, and intensity of the red dot is adjustable by the switch knob. Once adjusted, moving the scope until the object desired is under the red dot put the object in the field of view, even using the higher powered eyepiece This makes for much quicker aiming of the scope as opposed to "gunsighting" along the tube, reducing frustration factor during viewing sessions. Finders of this type are among the simplest to use, even for younger viewers, and a worthwhile investment. Unlike small scope finders, these do not magnify or invert the image, and it's very easy to go from spotting what you want with the naked eye, to centering it in the finder (when such objects are visible to the naked eye). The Star Pointer is just as easily removable from the base after an evening of viewing, allowing for safe storage and transport. All in all, a nice option for a good price.
