High quality mixer stirs great. Do NOT clean w/ vinegar, it will strip the anti-corrosion coating
Someone or some people put some thought into this design and landed on a winner. I got the smallest one of these for some small patches and it stirred wonderfully, even when I was using smaller containers. I was a little concerned it might just be some gimmicky unnecessary design change to an old tool but no, this it is just a deceptively simple, smart design. It immediately makes its benefits self evident with the first use. It very, very quickly gets things to a milkshake-smooth consistency. And it truly does not splash upwards and out, even if you pull it onto the surface of your mix while running full speed. As promised it also avoids bubbles in the mix --it's tough even if you try, which I did when I had some leftover compound to experiment with. If you're working with quick setting compounds this will save you precious minutes on the mix. I am surprised I haven't seen this shape/design yet in kitchen mixers. That said, I do wish I had seen some heads up that vinegar will strip the anti-corrosion coating. In the pic you can see the high water line of where I was soaking it -- it's all stripped down to a silver color now, except for the top part that was never submerged. Not rinsing it off (or at least having a rinse bucket ready to set it into) while wet is my own workflow fault. Still, having to clean dried joint compound off of drywall tools is after all pretty common, and vinegar are a common way to break it up. So I did that at one point, and it stripped the anti-corrosion coating, so now it looks like it will be more vulnerable to oxidation (without proper care/mineral oil coating, obviously.) I'd still buy it and recommend it without hesitation, and also if I have larger mixes I'll probably pick up one of the larger models, but a prominent warning (or if I missed it, a larger, an even harder-to-miss warning than there already is) on how to not strip the coating (and how to properly clean dried compound/plaster off) from LEVELS would further improve the entire package.

Level Five Awesome !
My first use was to mix a quart of stain concentrate with one gallon distilled water, initially and during use every five minutes after that. I did not lose one drop, and was using maximum speed on my Makita 18V drill and a 2 gallon bucket. This drill bit has the zuince! A must have.

Well built to last long.
First I love level 5 tools they are well build and last longer than other manufacturers. The 13 inch mixer is a great tool for mixing small batches in a small bucket or just mixing in a mud pan it is a real time saver.
