I purchased this console adapter to help troubleshoot serial connections. The pin lights let me know if the signal is transmitting or not, so I can figure out what is causing a black screen. It also works great as a single port serial cable for any application. I have used it on switches and edge servers and it is compatible with all of them. Great value and well worth the price.

Appears to be a genuine Prolific chip; no issues used with Windows 7, 10, 11. Also fine with Raspberry Pi OS.I've verified electrical continuity between the USB shell and the DB9 shell, something I always check to see if the manufacturer bothered to connect the cable shield end to end (sometimes they don't). This is something you want in order to avoid EMI/RFI and ESD issues.Would buy again.

Works great with Win 10 and 11 for serial port access to Cisco devices using Putty

The lights are a little close to see have to look at it from different angles. The wire does feel premium and its serves its purpose.

just what you need for a rs232

First unit would transmit, but not receive. As I was using this in a known working setup, it was clearly kaput. Happens. Replaced with second unit. Works fine.Very handy device in a very small package. Nice to see signal states and traffic without a fuss. Blue LEDs are very small and somewhat faint, so you have to look closely at the unit. Not sure why yellow or red LEDs were not used. I’d rework that if I owned this product.All that said, for the price and size and functionality, I can strongly recommend this product. Beats the pants off what I was using.
