Barielle B Nails Don'T Bite Pro-Growth with Argan Oil .45 ounce

It may seem cliche, but this product changed my life in a lot of ways. I've been a nail biter ever since I can remember. I knew it was a bad habit and I would try and kick it every couple years. I would use fake nails to create a physical barrier to allow the real nails to grow, but then I'd somehow go right back to it once they came off. The big motivator for me this time around was my 2 year old daughter. We started noticing that she was biting her nails, and I felt horrible knowing that she had learned the behavior from watching me. I bought this after reading some reviews and while the stuff is absolutely vile, it has worked miracles for us. I bought some piggie paint brand nail polish and used this as a "top coat" and then treated my daughter to a manicure date (both dry super quick which was important!). I explained to her that it would taste bad if she put her fingers in her mouth, and then laid her down for a nap. Maybe 10-15 minutes into her nap, she starts crying so I went to check on her. She was upset because she had indeed put her fingers in her mouth and had the taste in her mouth. I got her a cup of milk, which is the only thing that has worked to remove this taste, and got her back to bed. Again, I explained that she needed to keep her fingers out of her mouth. I wanted my daughter to stop this habit before it affects her health in the way it has mine. I have jaw problems and headaches due to how much I would bite my nails and I would hate to send her down that road. This product has not only helped her, but it has also stopped my 30 year habit in its tracks. The flavor is so bad that if I even touched my face/lips, it would make it to my mouth. My husband even kissed me a few times and could taste it! I havent had to wear it or put it on my daughter now for several weeks because it really helped us kick the habit. Instead we spend time together taking care of our nails and deciding what color polka dots she wants on hers. :) <3

Ick ick ick! This stuff is absolutely AWFUL tasting! That means it's perfect! It's exactly what I need! It doesn't have a funny smell. You can't see it on your nails. It dries really quick. Then like a snake in the grass, when you put that finger in your mouth, POW! IT BITES YOU! I was surprised how many times I put my fingers in my mouth... O: eww gross! Here's the sucky part... You use your hands/fingers for everything! So you'll taste this nasty bitter ick taste when you even touch your mouth. Can't eat popcorn! Can't make a sandwich! Can't put in a retainer/mouth guard! Can't floss your teeth! Lol! Seriously... This stuff is so nasty and it DOESN'T WASH OFF with soap and water. Those are minor inconveniences when you REALLY want to train yourself to stop biting your nails. Try this... It works!

Good product. Dries matte and kept me from biting my nails! My only issue is that, as others have said, it gets on food and other things when you touch them, so sometimes it finds its way into your mouth without you biting your nails (and the taste is hard to get out of your mouth for a few minutes).

MIRACLE PRODUCT! I cannot rave about this enough. I bought this for my boyfriend (he has religiously bitten his nails for over 15 years) with the barest glimmer of hope that it would even HELP let alone solve the problem. He started using it applying it once a day or every other day and hasn’t bitten his nails since! Its been maybe 1-2 months now that he is nail-bite free! He did mention if you eat with your hands that the taste transfers slightly if you put it on the skin around the nail as well as the nail. He said if you only apply to nail that doesn’t occur as much. I have tasted it for scientific purposes and the flavor is truly awful. It works! I cannot recommend it enough!!!

I tried it on myself first, just to see if the flavor really is bad enough to discourage nail biting, yikes! This stuff definitely gives off a strong bitter flavor! So I put it on my son while he was asleep and it worked at first. Within a couple days though, the flavor was gone. I reapplied, and the butter flavor seemed to only last a day or 2 after that. It doesnt last nearly long enough and for that reason, it hasn't effectively helped deter the nail biting

I’ve been biting my nails since I could chew and I’ve tried EVERYTHING to stop. I’ve even used other brands of this type of thing multiple times over the years, but I was always able to just bite right through it and endure how bad it tastes because I just COULDN'T STOP. This one is so foul that it made me stop almost immediately. The only downside is that I couldn’t eat finger foods while I had it on because everything I touched tasted like it. If you can’t say goodbye to finger foods, invest in some disposable gloves. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit, so I wore it for a little over 3 weeks, reapplying every few days, just to make sure I didn’t go back to my old ways, so after that I used nail polish remover and washed my hands a million times and was then able to eat all the finger foods I wanted. I also took biotin supplements while using this to make my nails grow, and my nails and cuticles are so healthy looking now!! It’s been a few months now, and every once in a while I catch myself with my finger in my mouth, just biting my nail, but not ripping it off or anything, and I just reapply this again and it snaps me out of it. Can’t recommend it enough.

Love this product!!! I had a very bad habit of biting my nails and picking at my fingers. I tried fake nail but as soon as they came off, I went back to my old habits. I thought I would give Barielle No Bite a try. As soon as I applied the first coat, I was not going to put my fingers in my mouth again. The taste is horrible!!! The polish is very powerful so I only use one line on my nails and cuticles or I will just apply to the tip of my nails. After using for 4 weeks, I am very happy that I actually have nice hands. Love the product, worked great for breaking my bad nail biting habits. One bottle will last a very long time.

So, I know the whole purpose of this product is to have your fingernails taste bad so you will stop biting them. This stuff is AWFUL. I had originally bought this for my 5 year old son, to try to get him to stop biting his nails. Before I put it on him, I wanted to test it on me, and I applied it as the directions stated to my thumbnail. After waiting for it to dry, I tasted my nail, and sure enough, it was nasty. The part that I do not like, is that it transfers, like REALLY bad. If you accidentally touch your mouth with your finger, your lips will taste like it. And keep in mind, its really hard to get off, so I had to scrub my lips with a wet wipe to get the taste off, which left my lips raw. By the end of the night, this stuff transferred from my thumbnail to BOTH hands somehow, to my lips, and I can't get the taste out of my mouth. There is NO WAY I am going to use this on my son's fingernails. If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. Does it do it's job as tasting awful? Absolutely. But beware, that this will be everywhere, and it's not like you can just wash it off. Its been 24 hours now, and my hands are still obviously covered in it, because I'm still getting it somehow on my lips and in my mouth. AWFUL.
