What a great product. Simple in design, simply adjust the height to your stair height, if it's carpeted go a notch higher to compensate for the carpet pile compression under the until. The foot base is solid and quite large getting a good hold on the stairs. The adjuster is easy to raise up and down, once at the right height you loack a bolt through the upright, using a matrix of holes to get from one side to the next. Bit fiddley poking the bolt though, with a wing nut to lock it off. Simply put your steps, ladder onto the strong and solid stair plate, which has turned up rims around to hold the ladder firm and lean against the wall. As you climb up the first few times, it's a bit weird looking down and seeing your foot and the on side of the ladders, sort of suspended in mid air, realistically the ladder is being held solid as a rock by this device. After 2 days constantly up and down painting as really high stair well all sides, this ladder leveller never faultered or moved, only when I did. Couple this with an extendable ladder, you can really speed up the painting job. Brilliant peice of equipment, though at first a bit expensive, but now having been suspended in mid air solidly, worth every penny.

Arrived on time. Very sturdy and very easy to assemble. Used for cutting-in ceiling/walls when decorating UK domestic stairwell in a new build 3-storey townhouse which is quite narrow, 90 cm wide stairs; used, with a 3-4m extending collapsible ladder set. Stairs were too narrow for this ladder stair stabiliser to allow ladders to extend to full height safely for a beefy boy like me … a slim Jim might have managed. This is not a fault with this product but is a consideration when using it on a job.

Good product, massive help when painting stairway hall walls and fitting a pendant light in hall. Found it a little unstable, so made sure to tie against the lower stairway main balustrade and I was much happier. Couldn't have completed jib without it !

This is a very good product. Well made, easy to use, sturdy and fit my stairs perfectly. I have a very high ceiling in my hall, awkward to get to, and this allowed me to get in and strip the walls. Definitely worth buying.

Great for ladders with no spreader bar on the bottom as they are around 2-3 inches too long unless you cut them down to fit but really good and also folds with minimum effort

This lighter support is very sturdy and works great. The base of my ladder feet don't fit in it, so possibly not compatible with an extending ladder. But I'm using it anyway, and it's held up!
