Good job Roxon!
Great multitool. Not to heavy and super easy to access the tools. Easy to sharpen the knife. Not to pricey in the event I break it or lose it.

Great tool for a great price
It's not a Leatherman but it's a good quality tool, no unnecessary tools o won't use, fire starter is a great backup tool but it's not the beat I've seen. It will throw a spark but I question the integrity of the rod since it's very compact. Tools are great, knife is sharp, nice grip, all tools function well

Nice multitool!
Roxon has improved a lot in a short period of time. This is a good outdoor survival tool. The knife is a decent size and comes pretty sharp...plus it can be deployed one-handed. The saw and pliers are nice as well, and the remaining tools are well thought out. The fire starting rod is small, but usable. Not sure I'd want to rely on the whistle for signaling, but you can't expect everything. Definitely worth throwing in a pack, or handing out to a less prepared hiking buddy!

Beautiful Multitool
I like that you can operate it mostly with one hand, you can carry with ease in your pocket, the clip is very strong. It's easy to lock and unlock it. The knife is very sharp. The weight is not a hindrance to carry it in my pocket. The price is great. It has great functionality. So far I am impressed and happy with my purchase. Thank you Roxon.

Mixed feelings
It's been over 6 months now since I bought this. Short version: Roxon is doing some interesting things in terms of design and I like some of those things. They also have made some extremely questionable design choices (and some design choices that are just plain bad by any measure) and in general they need to refine their process more and focus on some of the smaller details. Would MAYBE recommend depending on your needs. Would give 2.5 stars overall. Pros: There are some nice and very forward thinking decisions made in the design of this multitool. Build quality is nice, it still feels good in my hand after 6 months. There are very smart features which they've implemented, like lever that deploys your small tools and doubles as a lock to keep your tools from closing by accident, and the flint-striker being combined with a whistle that sits inside the tool handle. Cons: The tools generally do the job they're made for to a serviceable enough degree, but don't have the refinement that you see in other multitools. Screwdriver ends somewhat frequently slip/strip screws. The machining of the tools leaves some sharp edges where you don't want them, especially in the nail notches of the knife and saw. I have given myself razor burn on my finger-tip on days when I got a lot of use out of this, just from flipping the blade open. The wire cutters are terribly designed, there's really no saving grace there. They are utterly useless in my opinion. Unsharpened, flat wire cutters must be one of the worst design choices I've ever seen on a tool. They're ineffective at cutting, completely unable to strip anything, and the tool has a wire-stripper/cutter tool in the small tools anyways so I don't even know why these "cutters" that can't cut anything were included. That was easily the most infuriating thing about this tool. The blade has not kept an edge well at all. The pliers are fine enough for grabbing small parts in hard to reach places, but that's about all I trust them for. The file is too small and poorly machined to really be useful for anything. The can-opener/bottle opener is okay, but the time it takes to pull out, separate from other small tools, and then use once and put away makes it almost always less convenient than other options. I only used it for the flathead tip, which is prone to slipping on screws due to how smooth and polished the end of it is.

vielseitig, gut verarbeitet. Allerdings - dem Flint konnte ich keinen Funken entlocken. Alle anderen Funktionen entsprechen ganz meinen Erwartungen. Da ich ein Feuerzeug hab, kann ich die vollen Punkte vergeben.

Always use the right tool for the job but sometimes it is not possible due to circumstances and that's when you really appreciate having a multitool readily accessible hanging off the belt or in a nearby emergency kit. The S803E Flash is Roxon's answer to the Leatherman Signal which I have and which I keep in my hiking backpack. The Leatherman Signal has a few more functions but it is also $190 CDN. If we keep the price differential in mind, then the Roxon Flash represents exceptional value. Starting with appearance, the Flash's satin finish gives it a premium look and feel There is no play when the multitool is fully closed or opened. There are no sharp edges that will cut your palm when gripping the tool. The ruler markings are engraved and not just printed on. In terms of functionality, the Flash has all the major tools that the more expensive Signal has with three exceptions: the hex driver, "hammer", and the carabiner clip. However, I don't think those tools are essential in a multitool meant for the bush. The liner locks for the blade and the saw looks thin but you are not suppose to stab or baton with a folding knife anyways so these are not practical concerns. Speaking of which, all the edge tools are very sharp. I would add however that the wirecutter doesn't cut as confidently as the Leathermans. On the plus side, the Flash's safety whistle and ferro rod are much better designed than the ones on the Signal. This merits special mention since it is the main reason why you should be considering this tool over the others. I like the sheath that comes with the Flash. It is well-made and fit for purpose. I plan to remove the clip off the Flash so that it can slide in and out of the sheath easier. I already have a number of Leathermans but as they say in the bushcraft and emergency preparedness communities, two is one and one is none. This Roxon is a serious tool and will be going into an emergency dry bag kit when kayaking season starts up again.
