Shop HUMAX TN8000HD Récepteur TNTSAT HD. Free delivery and returns on eligible orders. Review: Superb receiver - An excellent little receiver. Obviously is designed to work primarily with the TNTSat package but can be very easily configured via the options menu to receive the remaining FTA channels from the Astra 1 satellite constellation. It also supports DISEqC and will work as a competent receiver for other satellites as well. Be aware of course that although it'll pick up the FTA broadcasts from 28.2e it's not technically a 'Freesat' receiver - i.e. it won't populate the 7 day Freesat EPG or provide any of the MHEG services. The build quality is excellent and the remote is small but feels nice/sturdy in the hand. The OSD is quick, the picture quality via HDMI is superb (no, really - the bits of this thing which output the picture must be markedly better than the equivalent processing equipment in my Technomate receiver which takes a signal from the same LNB, because the picture is noticeably crisper). I really like it and as a Francophile it's brilliant to be able to get TF1 and France 2 again now they're no longer broadcast in the clear. One point to note is that the remote control channel conflicts with that of some other Humax hardware - in my case the BT Youview ultra HD STB. This is really frustrating given that there is no way on either device (as there is, I'm led to understand, with certain Humax equipment) to change the IR channel used by the remote. The obvious workaround is to keep one receiver in standby and the other on. The power button on either remote, when pressed, will then turn the device that was off on, and the device that was on off - and you won't end up changing channels/going into random menus on the one you're not watching. Not a perfect solution - especially since the Youview box auto powers-off after a maximum of 12 hours, thus knackering the entire basis of the 'one on, one off' system, meaning I've got to get off my arse to press the power button on the box itself - but workable-ish. If the remote conflict is going to be more trouble than it's worth, there are alternatives for TNTSat such as the Strong and Servimat boxes (I think Technisat do one as well). Anyway, highly recommended. Review: SMOOTH OPERATOR - This box travelled from Orleans in France to Basildon in Essex with no problems. It then took 13 hours to travel the last few miles up the A127. Another delivery method is called for in future. The printed instructions are in French but the onscreen menus are in French or English. Minus one star for no English online. This is a proper multi-satellite receiver that can accommodate up to four fixed LNBs or a motorised dish. Canal+ don't want you to know that. If you already have a simple 60cm dish aligned with ASTRA on 19 degrees east, you don't need to know that either. My existing TNTSAT receiver will be obsolete on 25th April. I couldn't ask for a better replacement. I understand that the Smart Card lasts for four years from the moment it is entered into the slot and powered up. That being the case, I am using my old card until it expires later in the year. Remember where you put the new one. I installed the TNTSAT stations, the ASTRA free-to-air stations and the HotBird stations in well under half an hour. The picture quality is excellent. I have read that the French have reduced the picture quality to include more stations. That's not the fault of this remarkable little HD receiver and I can't say I'm bothered.

Excellent box and easy to setup with included TNTSAT viewing card.
Mine arrived yesterday - including the box, power adaptor, TNT sat viewing card valid for 4 years, remote control, batteries and HDMI cable. I was worried I might have to ring up to activate the viewing card, but it registers automatically when inserted. My satellite dish was already pointed to Astra 19.2 (I'd used the dishpointer.com website to help me do this previously). The power adaptor is a single unit incorporating the adaptor and a European power plug, so I'm using an adaptor (not included) to fit this into a standard UK plug safely. It all worked first time, and now I have the whole range of French free terrestrial TV channels, all of which are in HD quality.

Vive la France
I was lucky enough to have a dedicated French teacher during my school days As a result I have been a Francophile since my youth and enjoy keeping in touch with politics, news and sport in France.Watching French TV is one way of keeping abreast of events over there, in between regular visits. Satellite TV makes this possible these days via the Astra 1 satellite and a suitable decoder. The Humax TNT HD decoder is compact, elegant and user friendly. It is also extremely good value.Reception quality is perfect If you want to see what's going on" over there", GO FOR IT. Allez les Bleus..

Cannot delete characters in timer event name - no response from tech support
Works fine, but you cannot delete the characters in the name you enter for a timer event. I have asked this simple question to Humax tech support in France and they've not responded in 8 months despite many reminders. I have THREE of these devices and FIVE other Humax devices. This shows I am loyal to Humax. I can only conclude that their tech support is utterly useless, to put it mildly. Given the number of devices I have I would expect SOME sort of response. Just something to be aware of... Update FEB2017: new firmware now allows you to delete characters using the REW key (the one to the left of the STOP key). Still not changing my review rating due to utterly unresponsive technical support which is just rude and contemptuous.

Schneller Versand, sehr einfache Inbetriebnahme.
