I used this to shred a pork loin to make pulled pork and it just made it so much easier than using forks. I did have to cut it into chunks so that it would fit inside the shredder but other than that it worked great. Hardly any effort and non-slip bottom. Shredding chicken breast is a breeze as well. Yes it does shred chicken. No, not as easily or quickly as demonstrated in the video. Both myself and my daughter made boneless chicken breasts to try it out with similar results. Once the chicken hit the correct I pulled it out of the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then broke them in half. They were too big to fit in the shredder as is. I put the lid on and turn, turn, turn. It does slide around a little bit, but not enough that it’s an issue. I checked the chicken. Some shredded. Most just got stuck and parts of the larger piece was shredded but not all of it. So I moved the chicken from that spot. Then turned again. Opened it, that piece was only half shredded. I moved it again. I kept doing this till the chicken was all shredded. That was just the first piece. When I was finished shredding all the chicken it was finally to the point I could use it on rolls. But I had to reheat it in the microwave. The good thing was, my hands did not hurt after shredding. I’ve had carpal tunnel surgery and have to be careful with some of the things I do. The points on the device remained sharp and not bent over like in one of the pictures I saw in the reviews. It cleans up well. I washed it by hand. Overall it works. Just with a little extra effort and time. I don’t know if a different style would be better. I will use it again.

The handles are not ergonomic - there is no place to hold it steady while you are twisting it, so you have to kind of hold the edge of the bottom part while you twist the top. It doesn't really twist unless you put your hand on the top of the whole top and push and twist but then, it sort of just grips the the chicken and rips it s little but then when you open it up, the chicken is still in a lump, but a scraped up lump. Not impressed. Didn't work like I saw in the video, and I ended up trying to separate the chicken IN the device with a knife. No thanks.

Takes just a bit of elbow grease but shreds chicken beautifully.
