As of January 2026, this is still the only 1440p wearable display. They are much closer in form factor to a VR Headset than display glasses from Viture, but functionally these are simply display glasses. The field of view is larger than any display glasses, but they do not support 3DoF like the current crop of display glasses. The best thing about them is they present themselves as a 4K or 4K2K target to media streamers. I've used them with the AppleTV, FireTV Cube, Google Chromecast, and finally the Goovis D4H1 (I recommed getting that with the headset in a bundle). A 4K stream on these looks better than any other wearable device I own. For 2D content, I choose this over my Galaxy XR and it obliterates my Meta Qwest 3. This device is for someone who would love to have a 4K projector, but can't for whatever reason. It is fine for gaming. I would NOT buy it for productivity. 1440p is not going to support multitasking much better than 1080p, so you might as well get a conventional pair of display glasses and save a lot of money, especially if 3DoF fake ultrawide widescreens work for your productivity use case. These are for the person seeking the highest resolution wearable display they can find for consuming 2D content (movies, TV, etc). The speakers are horrible though, so you will be using a wired headset (my choice) or pairing the source device to some bluetooth speaker/headset. I would take a star away for the speakers, but these have held the resolution crown for 2 years now and I think you are buying them for the displays. I have the fancy head strap which is nice, but I have also used them without any head strap by lying on my back and letting gravity hold them against my face. For picture quality snobs, this is your device. You can see some screen door, so if that tends to bother you; they might not be a good fit. Other than that, great displays.

OK, so you’ve been eyeballing this headset for a while now and you’re wondering if you should spend the big bucks on it and asking yourself if it’s worth it? I say it all depends on your situation. If you already have a nice TV and this would just be a novelty kind of thing for you then no stick with your nice TV. Now if you’re the type, who is just wondering what it would be like to have a personal theater right in front of you then there is one thing you NEED to know. That is that the actual headset that carries the screens is not held to your face by anything, meaning that it basically floats in front of you and this is a big deal because in order to get that big picture theater feeling the glasses need to be pressed up against your face. Since the glasses need to be pressed up against your face, you either have to manually put pressure or go without seeing a full picture. I bought this headset because I wanted to be able to lay in bed at night and not bother my girlfriend. Which is actually really, really neat except again for the fact that in order to get the full theater experience, the headset needs to be pressed against your face fully for immersion. In my opinion, this alone makes this headset just not worth it, since what is the point of spending this kind of money if you’re not going to get a full blown insulated immersive experience. I will on the other hand say that I have had this headset well past the return date at this point and keep them because again the portability and the screen resolution is actually pretty good especially when connected to a computer, which I have a 4080 graphics card so everything looks . Also the ability to plug it right into a rogue ally or steam deck anywhere, well almost anywhere that’s safe, is a really really cool feature. The first time you put this headset on, you might think it’s really really cool, but if you’re like me eventually, that awful spacing between your face and the actual headset will become apparent and adjusting this does not really help since your left either being able to see more to the left or more to the right. If you have astigmatism then the little knobs will help clear the picture up, but unfortunately, it will still be left blurry in the affected eye. I can validate that glasses will fit between the headset and your face but again it will push the picture even further out. If you’re looking to buy these, just keep in mind what I’ve said about the one big flaw in all of this. It could just be the shape of my face honestly, and some other people might not have this issue with it, which in that case then I would say this headset is really good, but the price is still way too high for this. I’d say at the most maybe $600 but then again on the other hand, it is one of the better headsets that I’ve used. If you’re looking at getting some of the AR glasses that have those little monitors in them, I have them too, and I would say this definitely is better than that since the experience allows for a bigger picture and more clarity. If you’re an impulse buyer and tend to have buyers remorse, this is probably not the product for you honestly but if you have money and are going to be OK, then I would say give them a try but then again I would also say wait for a version that doesn’t have that god-awful spacing between your face And the headset. A lightweight headset. Similar to an Oculus visually but smaller and more comfortable than a DJI FPV 2 headset. Yes, you will look like RoboCop. Comes with an additional set of straps. A Chunky USB C and HDMI cord. Setup requires adjustments for Pupil distance. Much like going to an Eye doctor. The screen resolution is pretty good, not quite Apple Headset LED though. In terms of usability, this is like and extension of your phones screen. Good for Movie viewing. In my use, I only used it in 10 minute intervals to watch cartoons so I havent maxed out battery life. Not too many complaints. Look forward to future generations of this. REALLY expensive for what you get but if you can swing it, its a fun gadget. Make sure to setup in English and not Chinese. The Manual could also use some spell checking.

Nowadays this would be closer to what would be advertised as a 150" It might have been good when it was released but nowadays it is extremely overpriced. 95% discount and it might be an okay deal... But not in 2025.

The Goovis G3 Max, as delivered, with Base Viewer (300g) + Eyepiece (50g) + Front Headpiece (100g) weighs 450g ... much more than the description says. And if you add the optional $69 Back Headband (150g), the total is a whopping 600g. The rubber eyepiece did NOT fit well ... I could see through the middle, around my nose. I would have to clamp it tightly with the rear headband to seal it ... which in addition to the weight would add uncomfortable pressure. The G3 Max DID NOT WORK, out of the box. I connected it carefully, using proper cables and a 30W usb power supply, to my high-end Panasonic bluray player. I tried different cables. I tried sending the signal via the cable to a TV (which worked). The blue line across the front lit up but no matter what I did, I never saw anything but black, on the G3 displays. It's difficult to find the support contact info ... ONLY via email. Apparently there are two sources ... one for sales made from the Goovis site, and the other for sales via Amazon. Unfortunately I found the Goovis support first. They were rude and dismissive ... they asked me to return the product to Amazon and buy again from them ... even tried to "bribe" me with free accessories to do it. I really wanted this thing to work ... but it didn't, and the web description lied about the weight, so I just returned it.

The goovis is awesome makes you feel like you are at a imax theatre the picture is clear and the sound is awesome I love it great for video games and movies I love my goovis best invention for video games and movie buffs

If you want to watch movies or play video games on PS5 this is good. It does not disturb others watching TV in same room. Was hoping to use as a 2nd monitor with laptop but have to look at keyboard from time to time. This means raising the visor to see keyboard. I am not a prefect typist, above average but not prefect.

Picture Quality: it is like the best movie theater you have ever been in, or better than that. The picture quality is excellent, and the 65-degree field of view, combined with the good seals that block external light, create a very immersive experience. Watching one scene passing a row of shops, I turned to look in a shop window as we passed, which, of course, didn't work because this isn't a VR headset. However, it felt like I was there and should be able to look at the scene around me. Sound Quality: use earbuds. You don't want to use the built-in speakers. Weight and fit: it is comfortable enough for watching a movie. I think it could have been more comfortable, but it fit well enough and didn't strain my neck. Being able to adjust diopters and pupillary distance separately for each eye was essential for me because my eyes focus differently. Motion sickness: you can feel a little nauseous if you move the display around too much. It is the same problem as reading in a car, where the movement your eyes see differs from the movement your inner ear feels. You won't feel it in normal usage. Usage: I plugged it into my iPhone 16 pro, and it worked immediately. The phone powers the display, so you don't have to charge the headset. Once it is over your eyes you can't see any controls, which is occasionally annoying. To go back 30 seconds or turn on captions, you have to rotate the display up, make the adjustment on your phone, then rotate the display down again. It's not hard, but it is more disruptive than a quick tap. That's a consequence of it being just a display. Maybe there's a market for a remote control which pairs with your phone and you can easily operate just by feel. 3D pictures: one reason I got this was to view pictures from my 3D camera. It works, but as mentioned before, you can't see any controls with the display on, so you have to flip the display up and down as you move from picture to picture. Here's where a remote control would be very handy. Value: it is expensive, but it costs less than a 100" TV and doesn't require that you have space for a huge media room. Unlike a lot of current TVs, it doesn't track your usage and to sell your data and show you advertisements. It could be great for travel, albeit a bit bulky. Unfortunately, it is solo viewing only, so you can't watch with a friend. It's not for everybody, but it will be great for some people.
