Really great, very strong storage box and a reasonable price. I have previously bought other sizes in the really useful box range and find them really reliable. Easy to stack and sturdy.

Strong, robust, transparent plastic boxs which when filled with up to 5 really useful hobby trays and either the 9 litre or 9 litre xl lids make superb gaming miniature storage containers for a fraction of the price of other storage solutions. From the RUB web site you can get extra accessories: hobby trays and xl lids for around £ 2.50 each, the boxes will hold up to 5 trays each of which have 15 compartments for a total of 75 compartments. I collect the Dungeons & Dragons sets, the early sets had 72 figures and the later ones had 60, the last few sets only had 40! However, the compartments are suitable for quite a few 28mm figures each but trouble occurs when you have large monster sculptures such as dragons, giants and demons. The trays do not lay flat. Solution? Use an xl lid - I found the 19 litre lid fits the 9 litre box which allows you to either add an extra tray layer or leave it for space for the bigger figures to stand up. If you buy a 9 litre box and 4 hobby trays and an xl lid you get a box to store a complete set of D&D figures for around £17 to £20! Stick a label on each end and a checklist for the set on top and you have the perfect storage solution for your gaming miniatures, you'll save around £20 at least (foam will be extra). I also print out numbers to line each compartment so you can keep tabs on what miniature goes where. One last thing if you turn the fifth tray upside down you can have tall miniatures and smaller figures on the fourth tray and they won't get mixed up whilst being transported as the upside tray forms an enclosed box whilst inside the box and lid. Sorted!

Capacious. Strong for light- and medium-weight items. Sturdy. Box with lid on - designed to stack and they do so straightforwardedly and well. Good value at £9.08. Recommended. Bought two of the product (Really Useful Box, 9 litre, white, XL) - "white" means there's no transparency so you can't look at the contents unless you open the Box, ideal for avoiding looking at my clutter or for storing items discreetly. My leading brand label-printer labels adhere to the outside without problem. The "XL" means the lid is taller than the standard/non-XL size. The Box is a perfect size for me, to store A5-sized record cards (in landscape orientation). The XL lid means no problems including tabbed index divider cards that are taller than A5 (A5 is 148mm x 210mm). Obviously the Box will store lots of other things. The lid can be used by itself as high-lipped tray, quite a roomy one, albeit one that looks utilitarian and looks like a box lid. Dimensions in millimetres: External 395 x 255 x 205. Internal: 335 x 210 x 180. Info from the manufacturer's website. Fits kallax (with room to spare by the Box's side), mentioned as kallax is a popular make of storage furniture, but won't quite fit in if you've installed a kallax door insert. The handles are fairly strong rigid blue plastic. When the handles are pulled up over the edge of the lid (with a "click"), the Box is effectively "locked" closed (but not locked as in a padlock - anyone can open or close it) and the Box, by design, can't come undone until you "unlock" it.
