No, not *that* Napoleon, we're talking about Napoleon III, his nephew. The makers of this luxurious soap are still using the original, legendary method and ingredients that Fer a Cheval was using when Napoleon III was emperor. This is one of only three (or is it four?) manufacturers recognised as one of the original producers who are still making authentic Marseille soap. So I had to try it. I can see why it's legendary! Creamy and sudsy, it leaves my skin spanking clean, yet still moisturized. I like the aroma, kind of like green plus soil plus sun all smooshed together. Very grounded in earthy luxury. By the way, this soap arrived in pristine condition. No crumbles, no dried-out white edges like I've seen in the pictures of some other brands of this type of soap. Judging by what was delivered to me, this is a seller who takes care to send a fresh product in good condition. Very happy with this purchase.

What a find. My husband gave me as a gift with my French Beret. We have reordered three times so far and will not go back. There is a slight but pleasant scent and it makes your skin feel silky. It makes a good lather and lasts long enough for both of us using it making it a good value for the cost. The natural olive oil is not greasy, but moistens skin in a unique way.

I love these soaps and I love this company. I just wish it was more affordable. The soaps have a natural smell to them that after a while you actually really really like, and they are super gentle and bubbly.

I'm a wool felt artist, and this is my favorite soap for wet felting. Felts well, gentle on my hands. The best!

This hefty bar of soap lathers well and lasts a goodly amount of time. The unscented feature made me get used away from perfumed bath soaps…the addition of olive oil was a plus…I get the perception that this soap is an alternative to the deodorant soap bars that behave in the fashion of room deodorizers and heavily scented fabric softeners.

Je trouve que l'odeur est un peu forte , ça pique le nez par rapport au même savon vendu il y a 2 ans auparavant. La formule a t'elle changé ? A part ça ce savon lave bien le corps et fait beaucoup de mousse
