I've never used this product before, but I'm glad I found it! My lawn had gotten so full of weeds, I decided to just kill everything with a broad-spectrum vegetation killer and start over. Waited until Fall, then sprayed the lawn, waited 2-3 weeks and sprayed it again to make sure everything was dead. Had to look at bare earth all winter, but it was for the best. This is where I messed up... In the spring, I tilled up the entire area and immediately put down some very expensive grass seed. I've since learned that it's best to till, wait a week or so for the weed seeds you just tilled up to sprout, then spray weed killer again to get rid of all the weeds before putting down grass seed. Having planted the grass seed right after tilling, the number of weeds that sprouted was insane. I didn't have a lawn, I had a huge patch of plantain, clover, Japanese clover, dollar weed, and crabgrass. Some of the grass grew, but it was mostly weeds. I've read a lot of reviews for grass seed that complain about nothing but weeds growing, but their description indicates that they did the same thing I did and planted right after tilling. Anyway... I found this product and followed directions to hopefully kill off the weeds. I knew that I was going to have a lot of bare spots (since I had so many weeds that had crowded out the grass), but I planned to over-seed this fall, anyway. The plantain, dollar weed, and clover started to die within 2 days and were completely gone within a week. The Japanese clover, however, took a while longer to start to die. I was starting to think that I was going to have to re-apply this or a different brand to kill it, but after almost 2 weeks it finally started to wither and has now died off. I do have a lot of areas that need to be re-seeded, but at least the weeds are under control and mostly gone. The crabgrass will have to be treated a different way since this product does not kill actively growing crabgrass, and I'm overseeding this fall so I can't use a pre-emergent next spring, either. The combination of fertilizer and weed killer is great, though, since crabgrass is opportunistic and grows when turf grass is not well-fed or maintained. Hopefully, ensuring the health of the lawn will help prevent crabgrass from taking hold next spring. I'm happy with the results, even though it took longer than I expected for some of the weeds. The biggest difficulty I had was keeping the dog off the treated area for a few days (the info on the bag says no pets/humans for 24 hours, but I erred on the side of caution and waited until it rained before letting her back on the treated area).

scotts always meant quality to me if you want a good grass fertilizer. i've purchased this a few times on amazon. results always great compared to off brands. nice green grass everytime. easy pour into a spreader and you're good to go.

I’ve used a few different lawn products over the years, but Scotts Weed & Feed really delivered noticeable results in just a couple of weeks. I followed the directions carefully—applied it to a damp lawn and made sure not to mow right before or right after—and the difference was huge. The dandelions and clover that had taken over started yellowing and dying off within days, and my grass began to green up and thicken nicely. It’s almost like it choked out the weeds while feeding the grass at the same time. Perfect combo. I’ve gotten several compliments from neighbors who asked what I’m using, and I honestly didn’t expect results this fast. Just make sure your spreader is calibrated right and the weather is dry after application. Highly recommend this if your lawn needs a refresh—it’s like hitting the reset button for your yard. Will definitely be using this every season!

This is the first year we've used fertilizer/weed control in a long time. There was a very noticeable difference in the lawn, not complete but much improved after 1 treatment. Will definitely get more for fall and see what happens net.

I've been buying this product for years but I was hesitant to do so this spring after reading some of the negative reviews that say it doesn't work as well as it used to and I almost went with a different brand. I decided to give Scotts one more try. Although my yard doesn't have many weeds, there were a few patches of clover and some other weeds here and there. After planning around the next rain forecast and exactly following the directions I applied it. After about a week the clover and other unidentified weeds were dead. It's been about three weeks since applying and there are absolutely no weeds in my yard, thanks to Scotts. The fertilizer is making my grass thick and lush. I have to mow every 3-4 days but I don't mind. It is choking out weeds from coming back. As long as it keeps working I will keep using Scotts. My only complaint is they will not deliver the 5,000 sq ft bags to my area because Scotts is apparently trying to weed out (pun intended) that size. Two 5,000 sq ft bags were perfect for my yard size. I ordered one single 12,000 sq ft bag this time.
