PoE (Power over Ethernet) devices (usually cameras) require separate power that can be provided directly over special ethernet cabling. The ports that cabling plugs into must be PoE enabled. I have some PoE devices that I wanted run alongside some normal gear on my home network. This switch made that easy. Here's what I like: - 100Mb PoE cameras ran side bhy side with 1000Mb connections to my router. - There is no setup to use this switch - plug into a power outlet, then add connections. - Indicators show the connection speed and indicate traffic. - Cutouts for wall-mounting the unit are provided. Some comments... - The power cord is very beefy (understandable), but is only 1 meter long. It's a standard cord, so it's easily replaceable. - No pads are provided should the unit sit on a desk or table. If you want to have PoE and regular devices coexist on your network, this device can make that easy.

I don't know why the Chinese manufacturers can't hire translators, it makes them look so stupid . And makes me feel stupid for not knowing how to use this item. I know they are smart people. So please, make the extra effort to translate directions. I'm sending this back and buying elsewhere

He utilizado este switch para alimentar 4 cámaras PoE y ha salido muy bueno, ya que han pasado varios meses y solamente una vez lo he tenido que reiniciar y eso porque el cliente no se había dado cuenta que su conexión en el módem no estaba bien, si no hubiese seguido operando sin tema. Su costo es bajo para aplicaciones domésticas o PYME
