Read Optics Folding Reading Glasses +1 to +3.5, Easy to Fold Flat Quality Eyeglasses with Tough Protective Case

I have recently undergone Cataract operations having been virtually blind in one eye and nearly blind in the other. I now have excellent vision from what the surgeon described to me as being (20/20) Mid To Long Range vision. Anything closer than two feet away would require reading glasses. I purchased several pairs of reading glasses and wasn't that impressed to be honest until I purchased these ''Read Optics Glasses.'' They are excellent in quality throughout and fold away in a glasses case (provided) no thicker than my small finger. Although more expensive than many reading glasses these are sturdy and yet very light. It goes to show that you only get what you pay for, and as far as your eyes are concerned I think you should invest in a pair of these because of what I have just described and also because they carry a lifetime no quibble Guarantee.

I bought these specs because I find my prescription glasses and case too big for a lot of my small handbags, these are perfect and the case is so slim it should fit into the smallest clutch. A clever design which folds flat in the case and seems to be very sturdy. The case is rigid and should provide good protection. Very impressed so far

The spectacles are well made and appear to be quite robust. The optics seem good quality. I bought them as I'm fed up with pound shop readers, I must have been getting through at least a pair a week. The two-way folding mechanism is clever and enables them to fold into the very slim case, which is a bonus. The only reason for 4 stars is that the case is a bit flimsy and if it breaks they will need a regular case and will lose the benefit of compactness. I'm going to treat the case with care. Another reviewer said it was not possible to put them on one handed, eg at a shop till with one hand full. I've been experimenting and and it is perfectly possible - the dual sprung / rotating arms make it initially tricky but quite easy after a couple of practice runs. Don't let that put you off. Altogether very pleased with the specs after using them daily for a couple of weeks.

This is my own and I bought another one for brother because he saw mine and he loved it. Easy to use and extremely comfortable and very flat in its case, I actually like how its flat inside the case and no one will notice inside your pocket. Good quality and very clear for reading without issues. Definitely worth the price.

Very comfortable just the folding mechanism that was at fault. Because it has now bent the wrong way you have to try and keep them straight on your face. It’s a shame as in principle they are very good. Perhaps I just had a rogue pair!

The best over reader glasses. Fold flat. Good case. Great optics

The glasses are of good quality, and are an excellent piece of design. The hinge assembly at either side rotates through 90 degrees, so, as the side pieces are flat ie do not wrap around the ear, the spectacles fold virtually flat once the sides pivot. The weak point, and the reason for the poor review (and the complaint to Amazon, who dealt with it well), is that the case, which is needed to keep the spectacles flat (otherwise they spring back to their normal position) has design weaknesses, and is not fit for purpose. This is mentioned in other bad reviews here. I had assumed the manufacturer would have seen these, and addressed the problem. Sadly, they haven't. The weaknesses are as follows: 1. The two hinges are held together by short metal pins.. These are just a sliding fit, only friction holds them in place. So, guess what, after a few openings they slide out, unnoticed, and get lost. The case is then unusable. 2. The clip at the front is just a plastic strip with attached hook - this is pushed in to disengage the hook from a corresponding ridge in the upper part of the case. The mechanism just about works the first few times it's operated, but, with use, more and more pressure needs to be applied to free the hook. The case is so slim that it is very difficult to grip the two halves, whilst simultaneously pushing ever harder on the clip, to open the case. Eventually the case won't open at all. The case is essential to enjoy the main benefits of these (cleverly designed and well built) glasses. Unforrtunately it really is not up to the job.

This is my second pair of these fantastic glasses. They fold down flat in the box that comes with them and can be easily slipped into a pocket. Great product!
