I have been looking for a brush like this for years to paint my grooved pre-prime Cedar Shingles. Sears carried some like these years ago. I finally found them. Great!!!

Fantastic for older wooden deck staining. Gets stain in all the areas that it needs to.

Positively the best stain brush on the market for applying stain on surfaces, whether it's rough or not. Attach a pole to the end of the handle, and staining the deck becomes much easier to do. Great for applying stain to rough sawn cedar. A word of caution.... cleaning the brush after using solid color stains can be a bit challenging. If you want to work the stain into the wood by brushing, this is definitely the product for you. I've used these since the mid 1970's, when a salesman at Sherwin Williams recommended them to me. However, they're no longer sold at Sherwin Williams; but fortunately they're still available.
