Disappointing. -- I was initially happy to find this bulb at a lower cost than the Sony-manufactured version. Unfortunately, I was shocked at how quickly it failed.I installed this replacement bulb in my Sony projector only six months ago. Over that time my projector has had limited use. Last night, in the middle of a movie, the bulb suddenly popped with a loud bursting noise.This product clearly does not meet the same quality standards as the original Sony bulb. My previous bulb lasted for years under regular use, but this one didn’t even make it past half a year.

Have been using the new bulb for a couple months and it works 100% like it’s supposed to. Good brightness.

Ordered this as a replacement for a 10+ year old Epson 2030. I've always ordered OEM replacements in the past and they have of course worked just fine but you often have to do your homework to ensure the seller (whether via Amazon or another site) are selling the real thing, and you will pay a premium for it. The bulb assembly fit nicely during install and the picture color and brightness are great. The real question will be how many hours of lamp life I get out of it. According to my projector stats, the last bulb had 4000 hours and it probably cost 40% more. Time will tell but so far, so good.

the original was in my projector for 6649 hrs. this one got to 18 hrs running on eco and it started flickering. customer support is sending a replacement. if the next one flickers, i will return it and put that money towards an oem bulb. ill update if it does

It is so good to find a reasonably priced projector bulb for your classroom projector. This was a blessing for me because I rely so heavily on my projector when I teach. I've had bulbs go out before and needed to wait and wait for our tech to order a new one. Never again! I found this and decided to order it myself and bypass the tech and just as predected, by bulb started going out. It was darker than usual and the colors starting morphing. I put this in, it slid right in as it should, and I'm back to full brightness and full color. So for ease of installation, quality, brightness and color this is a good bulb for you.
