These have been a great aid to help the kids with sharing and doing homework
I bought these sand timers for my 4 year old and my 7 year old. My 4 year old has trouble sharing and staying on the naughty step, however if he knows he just has to stay in the corner until the sand has finished pouring out, that makes it easier for him to understand. He can also share with his sister if he knows that he will get his turn when the sand has finished and then we turn the sand timer over and he's allowed his allocated time. With my 7 year old, the school told us that they should be able to do 15 minutes bursts of concentration at a time. The 15 minute timer is an indication to her when she can stop her daily reading or take a break from her homework. The price is fantastic, they come in a range of colours, which the kids love. It has really helped my kids to have this visual aid to manage their time. I would highly recommend them.

Deeply satisfying
I am a teacher and bought these for school. They are lovely and vibrant so look aesthetically pleasing on my shelf. They are a little smaller than I was expecting and I haven’t checked their accuracy. They are a great visual marker for my students of time remaining on a task but I also use them myself during PPAs to divide my time between tasks. When they arrived I had one of the plastic ends loose. I popped it back on meaning to glue it back on but it has stayed in place without glue. The sand colours are vibrant and the glass seems substantial.

Good Value and Great Quality
I bought these as a visual prompt for my 7 year old, to help her to manage her time more effectively with every days tasks such as eating, getting dressed, and having a shower etc. There are 6 different lengths of time, which cover most of the tasks, but can be turned over if more time is needed. The timers are of good quality and appear to be very robust, (having survived being dropped down the stairs on a couple of occasions!). Good value and great quality - they do the job they were designed for!

Great value for money but can sometimes be inaccurate.
I bought these to help a small child understand time, as story time was being slyly extended night by night. They are very well built, colourful and nice to use. Occasionally one or two of them get clogged (a tap releases the blockage easily) and I can't say they are amazingly accurate. However, seeing as I never need to boil the small child like I would an egg, accuracy isn't essential. They suit the purpose for which they were intended perfectly and I am now rolling with a 15-minute story time each night like the King of Dads. However... since purchasing them, I have become morbidly obsessed with watch my life slipping away in 1, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minute increments. I resist, but even now I cannot help flipping one over and watching, sobbing, as the grains of sand slide ever downwards. Flowing silently. Stripping away the seconds as they fall. I reach out. The fingers of my hand hovering near the glass. I pull sharply away, clenching into a fist. "No!" The word whispered and hoarse as I force it from my dry mouth. Time. I don't have time!

Bought for son with autism - very happy
Bought for our son who has autism as the timers on our phones were causing him distress. He needs to countdown but not seeing the time reduce on our phones or certain egg timers and then the sudden sound of the alarm was making him upset. These timers are visual and don’t make a sound so perfect for us. We put it next to things he’s using such as tv, computer, iPad - anything - and he can see his time go down, he knows how much time he has as it’s printed on the glass, he can see the sand go down and there’s no anxiety waiting for a beep/alarm. He finishes his activity quietly and calmly. Someone said the times aren’t wholly actuate but I wouldn’t know as it’s not important if it’s out a little as that’s not what we need it for. Highly recommend for anyone who needs that visual reassurance for their tasks, regardless of age or need.
