First of all thank you Philips for releasing quality products at affordable prices. Second, thank you Amazon for offering such products with easy delivery and payment options. Coming to the speaker itself, this is a nice little retro classic Bluetooth speaker with stereo sound. I will divide the review into sections: Build Quality: This little speaker reminds one of the yesteryears wooden transistor radios. It very well mimics the old transistor radios. The build quality is good enough and seems to be made out of MDF wood. The front plastic grill is covered with a nice grey color mesh cloth. There is a nice and flexible synthetic leather handle to help carry it around. The unit is light enough to be carried around. There are four rubber tabs at the bottom for gripping the surface. I am not sure if the unit is weatherproof as it is not mentioned anywhere. The touch panel control on top is intuitive and very well designed, only issue is that old people might find it a little confusing while operating it. The ports located behind are covered with a nice silicone rubber pull tab. The body might get damaged if it falls from a tall shelf or table. Sound Output: It has 5W X 2 built-in speakers for a stereo sound effect. The total output is a modest 10W RMS and thanks to Amazon and Philips for mentioning RMS output clearly in the product description. This is unlike marketing gimmick by different manufacturers wherein they inflate the sound output as MAX watts which is rarely achievable. One should always check for RMS output to get a true idea about the sound output. Sound Quality: The sound quality is well balanced and crisp. Don't expect a heavy bass, as this system is designed to deliver balanced audio. As it is a 2.0 channel speaker the stereo sound effect fills a small room, kitchen, etc. very well. There is no distortion of sound even at the highest volume. There is an equalizer button on top with two presets, wherein one is for balanced sound output while the other is for enhancing the bass. This unit is ideal for playing old retro songs, instrumental, ghazal, soft rock, etc. Control Panel: As mentioned previously, the controls are intuitive but can be a little confusing for older folks. One can get a hang of all the controls within 2-3 days. The user manual is easy to understand and straight to the point. The touch panel feels like metallic silver and is good to use. There are no physical buttons present anywhere but given the price it is expected that it wont have physical button setup. There are two small led lights at each end of the control panel which lights up. It has different color codes for each mode which is mentioned in the user manual. The touch panel is fairly responsive but it would have been good if they were backlit to see the controls in the dark. FM Radio: There are very few good reputed brands who offer the ever loved FM radio to their speakers. Philips has done a great job here by including the built-in FM radio in this unit. Tuning the FM radio is very simple by following the simple instructions in the user manual. Please note that attaching the FM wired antenna (included in the box) is recommended before tuning the stations. The unit has an option of auto-tuning (recommended) as well as manual tuning. Coming to the clarity of FM radio, I stay in Bombay and the clarity is as good as any of my FM players. The signal strength is good and clear without any distortion. The wired antenna that comes with the unit is nice and long and should always be attached to the unit while listening to the radio. Portability: The unit is highly portable wherein you can place it anywhere inside the home. It does not have portability of normal Bluetooth speakers wherein you can carry in your bag pack, pocket, etc. The unit is relatively big and is suited for home use only. Could be better: Philips should've included physical buttons on top for controls, at least for the audio. The synthetic leather handle should've been a little more sturdier. At 6 hours the battery life seems insufficient for continuous listening. Philips could've offered at least 12-15 hours of battery. But adding all these features would bump up the price for sure. That said the unit can play while being charged, so no issues there if you want long hours of listening. Another point to note is that unlike cheap Bluetooth speakers with FM, this unit continues to play FM radio even while charging without any signal distortions. P.S. This product is Made in India. Looks are good, but the sound quality is very bad. No clarity in sound, no bass at all. Not worth buying.

No separate switch for FM, USB, Bluetooth. No remote. Remote will help to power on/off, change mode to USB, Bluetooth , FM. Not able to operate FM. So use is restricted. Without display it is difficult to know in which mode you are such as fm, USB, Bluetooth? Remote is must since if you want to play song number 121 on USB it takes long time. If remote is there just select song number. There should be different knob for selecting FM sration. At present not able to play FM station. So main purpose of puchasing product is defeated. There is no much feeling of retro. Since there is no knob like retro radio. It should also operate on normal battery. So it will be more handy. Just giving handle is not sufficient. Before completing any review on the product you should study the product completely and test it on the quality, features, all advantages and disadvantage, any improvement you want, since it is going to help prospective buyers. Now a days there are variety of product, choice is unlimited. Hence review should be comprehensive/complete. Review is for future customer.

Philips BT speaker is amazing product having clear sound, Bass level is very good. It has unique touch pad for volume control, change input sources USB/FM/BT with indication colorful lights. FM operation is easy with channel change in one click also signal reception is good. Very good option for music lovers with Retro style unique design.

It's a wonderful product from Philips. Sound quality is amazing, battery life is 6 hrs as mentioned. Only drawback is the keys to change modes and an antenna for FM could have been better.

Worst product. Please do not buy this speaaker. It comes broken. First time when I ordered, it came broken, ( the top panel was out of place, wiress were hanging out), and when I asked for a replacement, again it was broken. Apart from that, the spealer as a whole feels fragile, controls not working properly, if we open the USB port on the backside, it comes off in your hand even if we pull it gently. The built quality is very bad and pathetic. And the audio quality mediocre. Not worth the money.

Except Brand Name everything is ok. No Sound effects. Just a Good look normal speaker.

FM radio works great, and the sound quality is way above what I expected. It looks like a classic, but performs like a pro.
