Decent melting set
Nice l little sets for small Meeks, the graphite stirring rods don't hold up the best depending on the temperature but for the price it's worth it.

Great price. Items were exactly as described.

Careful with the crucible - the graphite is very messy and can get all over you and your clothes
This iss a good starter kit for people wanting to try out smelting -- the price is good for what it is, and you have most of what you need except a pair of tongs and a furnace to do your own smelting. Note that you will want to make sure to use work clothes you don't mind getting very dirty, as the crucible is graphite, and it will get on everything. It would be nice if the crucible had a pour spout, but, for the price, it's acceptable that it doesn't have one.

High quality Molds - Smaller and lighter than expected
So I recently got into precious metal refining. Now that I have all this nano pure metal powder, I needed something to turn it back into a solid piece and be able to stamp it. I've been using a friend's vacuum furnace, but I don't always have access to that device so I needed something I can use myself. I did a bunch of digging and saw that I should grab graphite molds and found these. When they came in, I couldn't believe how light and how small it truly was. When it said 1kg in size, I thought it would have the same capacity as my 1 liter containers, but I was obviously wrong. It is about the same size as an ~8 oz water glass. I also thrown off because I was able to see the machined tracks in the mold pieces but was told that was normal for this type of piece. Even though I was apprehensive, I heated up a sample of 100 grams of pure silver powder and poured it into the 1kg cup and then transferred it right into a cold water bath. The mold seemed completely unaffected and the sample came right out. It was much easier than I expected and I was actually impressed that it didn't affect the mold at all. These graphite molds work exactly as expected. The smelted sample came out pretty smooth visually, but not as good as a sintered sample. Definitely passable for small gifts where you can stamp a message. For anyone that works with or collects precious metals, this is a must have. It's a relatively inexpensive way to work with powdered metals. I'm sure you could melt solid scrap directly in these molds itself. My next test is to see how these work inside a vacuum sintering oven once I find a piece to sit on top of these to compress the powder samples (although I was told there was a way these may work without that). Here's where I feel the clearly machined face may reflect in the piece's results, but for normal smeltering use, these are rock solid molds.

Decent set. Not as smooth as images show
I am a professional artist working in metals and glass, and have experience using many graphite molds and crucibles. This particular set includes an ingot mold, a crucible, and a graphite stirring rod. The stirring rod is excellent, smooth and long as it should be. The other pieces have some minor issues. The crucible is pretty smooth on the inside, which is good. However, it leaves me wondering if it is a ‘second’, as it’s really rough on the edges and the bottom, like chunks have fallen out. This concerns me a bit because I’m not sure of the integrity of the graphite at high temps when there are already chunks missing. The ingot mold is much smoother, although the router lines are pronounced on the inside. That’s not a huge deal as those lines can be rolled out. There is a triangular chunk missing from the bottom of the ingot mold. I’m not sure it is from the router or if it’s a defect, but I’m going with the defect since none of my other ingot molds have this. In all, I would say that it’s priced fairly for what you get, and it is still useful in spite of the flaws. There are other sets on Amazon that are likely a better value.

Good Kit, but Handle with Care!
This kit is solid for anyone looking to get into smelting. The stir rod is a standout—sturdy and well-made, perfect for stirring molten metal. I’m excited to fire up the furnace and put it to use! However, a few things to keep in mind: the crucible doesn't have a coating, so the graphite rubs off on everything. Be sure to handle it with gloves, or you’ll end up with stained fingers. The crucible also lacks a pour spout, and the top isn’t completely smooth, which might cause some issues when pouring. Ideally, it would have included tongs to safely handle the crucible. Overall, it's a good kit with a few minor drawbacks, but it’s still a great value for anyone eager to get started with smelting!

Finally showed up, postal strike is over in Canada. Everything showed up not broken, always good, not sure if my stirring stick broke or not, it's now in two pieces, probably did.
