The Eufy Robovac 30 is a wonderful little vacuum!
The Eufy Robovac 30 is a wonderful little vacuum! It has far surpassed my expectations. After replacing carpet with dark hardwood floors in most of our 2400 sq. ft. home, I was finding it difficult to keep the dust bunnies at bay. I didn’t know anything about robot vacuums so I went online to do some research. I considered a lot of different brands but what caught my eye about the Robovac 30 was a combination of the positive customer service comments, price, and boundary strips. We have a combination of hardwood, low-medium shag carpet, vinyl, and tile. I was pleased to see that the Eufy Robovac 30 was reported to be effective on all of these surfaces and I have not been disappointed in the Robovac 30’s performance in my home. I was so happy about the effectiveness of my Robovac 30 and the amount of time it saved me that I encouraged my daughter to try it in her home for a few days to see if she would like me to get her one for Christmas. My daughter and son-in-law live in a 2-story home and have 2 indoor cats. After using my Robovac 30 she was sold so I ordered them one for Christmas. The Robovac 30 works wonderfully in her home keeping it free of cat fur. They have a combination of light wood, tile, and carpet. It cleans everything except the stairs. Her Robovac 30 did fall down the stairs once but she said she now leaves on a light and it has never fallen again. She also only cleans when she is at home and does not schedule cleanings. She has had her Robovac 30 since Christmas 2018 and it is still performing well. After about 10.5 months, my Eufy Robovac 30 began turning itself on and cleaning at random, making a really loud grinding sound when cleaning rugs and maneuvering over transition pieces, and it seemed to get confused and clean in circles or keep going over the same area again and again. I cleaned my Robovac 30 thoroughly, replaced the side brushes and cleaning brush, and cleaned the sensors but it continued to be much less effective and noisy. After trying different things for about 3 weeks, I called Eufy customer service, and talked to a representative who was extremely polite and helpful. She asked me a few questions and had me try a couple of things. She then stated that it should not be acting that way and I was sent a replacement in a few days. She did ask me to write a review discussing my experience. I have waited several weeks before reviewing my replacement Robovac 30 since I wanted to see how the new machine works. Something I noticed with both Robovac 30s, they seem to clean better and transitions more easily through the house after 2-3 weeks of use. They both seemed to stay in one area and not move easily from once type of flooring to another at the beginning. After several weeks, I am very pleased with my replacement Robovac 30. Features and Comments: -Running time – On hardwood floors with different size area rugs, my Robovac 30 will clean for between 90 – 105 minutes when fully charged. Running time is less on carpeted areas. For reference, I section off my house into small areas since I like to clean each area thoroughly. It takes 2 full charges to clean my entire house. -Thoroughness of cleaning – I can’t believe how thoroughly this vacuum cleans. It is truly amazing. I used to vacuum my floors with a canister vacuum and then Swiffer with dry cloths before mopping. Now I just run the Robovac 30 while doing something else and then mop. Amazing! I also love that it will clean under most of my furniture, especially under the beds. -Finding its way back to the docking station – I only use my vacuum when I am at home due to the fact that I still have some area rugs with fringe and long drapes that puddle on the floor in some areas. Also, my elderly mother lives with us and I am afraid that she might trip over the vacuum if I am not there to supervise. Therefore, I use the boundary strips to block off certain areas so that I know where the vacuum is at all times. If the Robovac 30 is able to get to the docking station when its battery starts running low, it does an amazing job of docking; however, I typically just pick it up and return it once I hear it slowing down. -Remote and scheduling cleanings– I don’t often use the remote and never schedule it to clean for the reasons mentioned above. The few times I have used the remote, I have been mostly pleased. It works wonderfully for spot and edge cleaning. I will occasionally use the manual cleaning to direct the Robovac 30 to a certain area but for me it is faster to pick it up and move it rather than using the remote. I have never scheduled a cleaning so I can’t comment on that feature. -Boundary strips – I love the boundary strips since we have a very open floor plan and they easily allow me to block off certain areas and confine the Robovac 30. Due to convenience, my floor plan, different floor textures, some rooms getting more use than others, and my mother’s safety, I section off my house into segments of about 300 sq. ft. to clean at a time. This way I can target the rooms that get used the most and are therefore need extra cleaning, keep the Robovac 30 out of rooms that have clutter or things that need to be removed, and know where it is at all times. I also feel that the rooms are more thoroughly cleaned. If not confined, the Robovac 30 will randomly move throughout the house and some areas may not get cleaned before the battery dies. I have cut and taped sections of the boundary strips to yard sticks and use these to block off areas. The Robovac 30 won’t run over the magnetic strips but it can push the yard stick across the floor, so it is necessary to either place the yard stick in a doorway so that the door frame prevents the yard stick from being pushed through the door or place something heavy either on or behind the yard stick so it can’t be moved. It is then easy to store the yard sticks standing up in a closet and have them ready to lay down each time they are needed. -Babysitting – Since I remove items that the Robovac 30 can get tangled in, I rarely have to rescue it. -Cleaning the Robovac 30/maintenance – Cleaning is easy but it is necessary to do so on the recommended schedule. After cleaning each area that I have sectioned off in my house, I empty the dust bin. This may not be necessary but cleaning effectiveness will be decreased if the bin is allowed to get too full and it is amazing how fast it can fill up. I don’t consider this a flaw in the Robovac 30, but a fact applying to all robot vacuums. I did originally have difficulty removing the roller ball to clean it. To easily remove the roller ball, use a small pair of needle-nosed pliers. Gently squeeze the pliers on the sides of the roller and pull straight up. This does not take a lot of force and works well. -Customer service – Excellent! I was shocked that I received such courteous customer service and a new vacuum when my original Robovac 30’s warranty was due to expire in less than a month. The replacement vacuum came with a 90 day warranty instead of a full year, but that is understandable. -Replacement parts – All replacement parts (side brushes, filters, etc.) are easily purchased from Amazon. Overall, I am very pleased with my Eufy Robovac 30 and would purchase again!

Amazingsly perfect unit for our 3 cat hardwood floor family! Litter and random cat toys NO PROBLEM!
Bought this and must be my luck but it had an error when mopping. Eufy replied within a day and sent me an entirely new unit to swap out and it's worked flawlessly! This vac is the perfect one if you have pets, we have 3 cats and cat toys are always in random places. Past robot vacs we bought would always have toys stuck in them. This one actually sees anything and goes right around it without problems. The mopping on our hardwood floors is 100% clean. The best feature is setting up multiple schedules during the day to do only certain rooms (our cat litter box room multiple times a day) and then a couple full mop schedules so we wake up to a clean floor and go to sleep with a clean floor. Overall I really would like to buy another one for upstairs (even though you can just bring the robot up and it will track multiple floors). Also, most vac/mops I have tried are always a pain to clean. Not this one. The dirty tank and water refill just pull up from the top of the base unit and easily rinse out and refill. The robot also has a magnetic top that pops right off and a simple slide off the back dirty tank (to wash the filter inside, if needed). As a bonus surpise, I tested it on one of our cats vomit on hardwood floor and it worked perfectly and didnt smear, or spread it anywhere else!

Finally a robo vac that tackles dog hair without getting stuck anywhere!
We recently moved into a new house and remodeled the living room removing the old carpet and installing porcelain tile. I have one large, very thick area rug, one smaller but very texted rug and a small one by the back door that is also quite textured (jute border with a woven interior). Besides rugs and tile I have a lot of plants, furniture and floor registers/vents that this little vacuum has to work around and it does a pretty amazing job not getting stuck anywhere and picking up all our labradoodles hair, dust, dirt and crumbs! The only issue I’ve had with it was that it was high centering and getting stuck on the open/close switch of largest floor register (see pics/video). I have it running at night and would sometimes come downstairs in the morning to find it stuck on that switch like a turtle on a stick haha. I used the included magnetic strips to put a border around the vent and it hasn’t happened since! Also, I had to make sure all of my cords were off the ground which I wanted to do anyway. I zip ties the excess into a loop and used clear command hooks to secure them to the wall behind lamps and couches and that did the trick. I am really impressed with how quiet it is too. It’s program puts it to work at 1am and we never hear it. It doesn’t bang into furniture loudly either. If it does bump into things it’s a pretty light tap. It doesn’t disturb our dog in the least either! I do find that you have to clean it out (including the brush and filter) every two to three days or the suction power will suffer. Ironically I find that the easiest way to clean it out is to take it all apart, dump it and then use a small handheld vacuum to clean out the bin, brush and filter screen. Then I’ll use a small pair of needle nose pliers to pull off any hair that has wrapped around the wheel axles and wipe it down with a Clorox wipe. That seems to keep it running really nicely! I will say I used to have a different rug that shed TERRIBLY!! It’s a really high quality rug from West Elm but for some reason it would clog the robo vac EVERY NIGHT no matter how many times I vacuumed it. I finally moved that rug to another room and haven’t had any issues with my other rugs. As a former Roomba owner (I had too many problems with it and returned it) I never thought I’d love another robot vacuum but this one has been excellent and for the price I think is an outstanding value! I highly recommend it, and yes, I paid full price! I hope this review has been helpful. Please feel free to ask any questions!

Legit Game Changer
First, the negatives. While it can use multiple maps for a multi-story home, it's a bit clunky. You basically need to start it on the primary floor, pause it, carry it to the new floor, und unpause. It works, but will roam around looking for the base until the battery dies once it's done. Second, it doesn't get all the way up to the edge of the room. The only place I notice it is near the dishwasher, where some crumbs and things of that nature are missed. Very minor, but worth mentioning. Third, the vacuum is just okay. It works great on solid surfaces and average on carpeting. The thicker the carpet, the worse it will do. Fourth, it really struggles with height transitions. We have mostly hard-surface floors (LVP and hardwood) with some thicker shag rugs on carpet pads in the living rooms. To be fair, they are very thick. However, this robot cannot consistently climb them, so we have blocked them as no-go zones in the map and just vacuum by hand. All of these problems need to be addressed via software updates or engineering advancements in future generations. If you've read this far, you're probably wondering why I gave it 5 stars. In short- despite those flaws- this robot is legitimately kinda life-changing. As previously mentioned, we have a lot of hard flooring. We have kids and a dog. They bring dirt into the house no matter how hard we try to be careful...it just happens. Keeping the floors free of debris and looking clean required vacuuming every couple days and mopping at least once per week. The mopping, in particular, is awful. It's a literal pain in the back, stuff like a Swiffer mostly pushes the dirt around and gives it a clean looking appearance, but doesn't get it truly clean (in my opinion), and it really only looks good for a few days max before the sunlight shines across those floors and shows you how filthy/smudged they are again. This robot ended that headache for good. The roller mop design is unique to Eufy and will 100% become the industry standard in short order. It does a far better jobs than we ever did as humans and we come home to a perfectly clean floor. We setup a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule and that works really well for us. The navigation, object avoidance, and app are absolutely fantastic. We had an older Roomba before that did okay, bit it got stuck every once in a while, scuffed our baseboards, and sucked up every shoelace or cord it could find. I'm sure newer models from that brand are light years beyond the one we had, but this Eufy just does a fantastic job in all those categies. The maintenance is easy, intuitive, and brilliantly designed. This is so important and so underrated. I cannot stress how well-designed and constructed this robot is from top to bottom. My biggest fear before purchasing it was the complexity and likelihood of maintence headaches, but it is really, really well-executed. I could go on, but suffice it to say I'm thrilled with this purchase, despite the shortfalls I detailed above. This robot isn't cheap and I can't truly speak to longevity because we've only owned it for 5-6 months, but it's been almost flawless in that time. If you have mostly carpets, there are probably better options out there. If you have hard flooring or a mix and you can really take advantage of the mopping, this robot is an absolute no-brainer.

OVER HYPED! READ!!!
I've owned a lot of robots both vacuum and vacuum mop over the years, and I was excited to try this one out due to what's unique mopping system that isn't seen many other robots, however, I think the hype of these units is just that. These units have a ton of glitches and bugs, and they've been out long enough that they should be taking care of unsolved but it seems that the manufacturer is taking their sweet time in addressing a lot of the small issues that add up to make it a poor experience that I don't think the pros are worth the trade-offs of the cons at this price point especially. Currently my flagship model and workhorse is the dreame x40 ultra and after trying this s1 pro robot out, I will be purchasing another x40 ultra for our basement and sending the s1 pro back. The mopping system is no better than the x40 ultra despite the advertising, I ran side by side tests on an equally dirty floor after our large wet dogs ran across them, and I used a clean white paper towel to wipe the floor afterwards on both sides and they were dead even, I believe that the mop pads on the x40 ultra will become overloaded with dirt and need to be washed at the base station about the same time the s1 pro will run out of water and have to go back to get more from the base station, so there's not really an advantage to the roller like you would think. Another issue with the roller is the very small contact patch with the ground that I don't see anybody talking about, it's pencil thin, and so unless the robot is moving very very slow, the amount of time that there is a mop on the ground scrubbing on anyone's surface is very low compared to the spinning mops of the x40 ultra that are much larger and are obviously scrubbing for a much longer amount of time while making contact with the ground at the same movement speed. The detergent in the x40 ultra is refillable with your choice of detergent, awesome feature that saves a lot of money being able to buy gallons of floor cleaner and it uses it conservatively, the s1 pro requires you to buy proprietary cartridges which I was not aware of when purchasing, that alone is enough to send it back due to obsolescence of if the manufacturer stopped selling them, and being locked into a niche product line from one brand. Replacement components for the x40 ultra see much more readily available and cheaper as in mop pads bags and filters etc since they seem to be shared throughout many of the common form factor mopping robots on the market from various brands. You have to go avoidance isn't necessarily bad on the s1 pro compared to the x40 ultra, the issue really lies in the software, the amount of options that you have to choose from is disappointingly small, there's so many obvious features that should be there coming from the x40 ultra app that it makes it seem like it's 2008 again and iRobot is what we're dealing with. The mapping is super fast on the s1 pro since it seems to almost 3D scan the room as it moves around and can pick up a pretty good picture of the room after very little movement, but it's thought processes of when it maps and when it changes due to new obstacles etc and just the general interaction of the robot is frustrating, slow, and confusing, inputs at the base station compared to the app don't seem to sync up so if you start the robot at the base station and then go into the app it doesn't seem to reflect in the app that the robot is actually out cleaning and there's no way to stop the robot from the app or really interact with it. I found multiple times where I've initiated settings in the app and then when you click save it doesn't actually save the settings and there's no way to actually implement changes to certain settings. We also have anti-stress / fatigue mats in our kitchen and they are about a half inch thick with a tapered edge, there's no way to distinguish in the s1 pro app to have it mop these, it thinks they are carpeting and the only way to get them to mop them is to turn on the carpet mopping feature which leaves our carpet soaking wet and we don't want that, there's no way to set up individual zones to have different settings, it just applies apparent setting to the global use case for the entire mopping / vacuuming setting. There's also no way to make it vacuum and then mop, you either have to make it vacuum, or vacuum and mop at the same time which gets the brushes wet and causes dirt to stick to them, this is a very basic feature that should be able to be implemented. The s1 pro also does a terrible job at edge cleaning, like shockingly bad, we had lots of debris from our dogs running in the yard around the edges underneath the reveal / toe kicks of our cabinets, I've never seen dirt there after the x40 ultra has deployed, but the s1 pro literally stays back at least an inch to 3 in in some spots no matter what settings I change, and since the roller for the mop is inset slightly it's in some spots almost 4 in where there's no mopping, and the bristles don't get underneath from the side sweepers to pull the dirt into the path of the shockingly tiny vacuum bar, leaving dirt all around underneath the toe kicks of our cabinets, I deployed the x40 ultra afterwards and it got every single speck of dirt from underneath the toe kicks that the s1 pro left behind. The efficiency is very poor on the s1 pro as well because the vacuum bar is so much smaller than the mop bar, it has to overlap its passes by almost 50% in order to have full vacuum bar coverage. The x40 ultra has no problem mopping the anti-fatigue mats, and with the side swing mop and the retractable side sweeper bristles, there is almost no scenario, space, or corner that I have seen the x40 ultra not be able to get dirt out of or mop up to come and it gets way closer to table legs and chair legs. The s1 pro might be good if you have like a warehouse or something that's wide open and has nothing on the floors and you just want to mop primarily the central area quite well, I think it might excel in that, but in most households, especially one that's busy that regularly is receiving Amazon packages, doesn't always get the chairs pushed in around the table, has pets running around etc, the s1 pro has an anemic approach at tackling objects and mopping close to them, where the x40 ultra seems to regularly detect people walking around and pets etc as well as newly placed objects like backpacks and whatnot, and it manages to navigate around them and more importantly remap on the fly and clean around them tight up against them every single time without a hiccup. The x40 ultra also is very good at not falling down the stairs, where's the s1 pro in order to get it to go closer to the edges of cabinets and get it to climb the anti-fatigue mats to at least vacuum them slightly, you have to turn off the sensitivity of its ledge detection, where I found it literally running itself off the edge of the stairs every single time, and even sometimes running itself off the edge of our stairs with the edge detection sensitivity turned on. Another note on the anti-fatigue mats, since I think they're becoming more common to have in residential kitchens if you do food prep, since the vacuum bar is so tiny on the s1 pro, it can only make one pass down the middle of the 80 fatigue mats, and while it does have the dual side bristles, those are really only meant to flick light dirt into the path of the vacuum bar, the vacuum bar having contact with the floor does agitate dirt and pick it up into the airstream, also allowing a lower vacuum power to be ran which increases the runtime of the robot and keeps it quieter, the x40 ultra was able to suck up way more stuff on the minimum mode due to having a way bigger and more aggressive beater bar than the s1 pro was able to even on close to its max setting which is way louder than the x40 ultra on its minimum setting obviously, the side bristles are not a replacement for ground contact with the beater bar so unless you have wide open areas that has no differences in elevation like what you would think of with an anti-fatigue mat, the s1 pro is a poor design for these applications. Even when I could get the s1 pro to mop on the anti fatigue mats, it would normally only do one strip down the middle, and it wouldn't turn them up on until it was halfway through so it would end up only mopping a couple of inches one pass wide in the middle, the x40 ultra has the ability to change the height of the mops and stagger them as well as kick the mop pads out so it will literally mop the beveled angle edge of the anti-fatigue mats and the centers perfectly leaving them spotless every time it takes a little while but it slowly works its way around them and keeps kicking its butt out in order to swing the mop pad down and get every quarter even with the fatigue mats pushed tied up underneath the toe kicks of the cabinets. Both the x40 ultra and the s1 pro are $1,000 on the Black Friday sale right now I would highly recommend picking up the x40 ultra over the s1 pro...

Best purchase ever! Have had this 1 year!
I have had this vacuum for over a year now since Nov 2018, and this has been the best purchase ever. I literally run this thing 1 time a day, and sometimes 2 times a day, everyday, for the last year! We had a long-haired cat, so there is always fur. Our house is about 3000 sq ft, spread throughout 3 levels. We have dark hardwoods throughout our main floor, with many low pile area rugs. On the same level is a bathroom with tile and rugs, and a couple of bedrooms with a medium pile carpet. The vacuum moves freely throughout that level of my home, moving between hardwood, carpet, rugs, and tile with no issue! The only thing you have to watch for is cords and shoelaces. I solved that problem by tying some of my cords in a way where they don’t drag on the ground, or I use the boundary strips under some furniture pieces where I tuck the cords behind the strips. And don’t forget to pick up your shoes. But if it ever does get caught on a cord, cellphone charger, or shoelace, it has not damaged it; it simply causes the vacuum to get stuck and caught. I have found it easy to pull the item from the vacuum to “unwind” it. I empty the canister in between each “run”, although I have found that you can get away with 2 runs before you must empty, but it’s pretty full. It’s simple to empty, you dump it in the trash and use the provided brush tool to brush out the dust. My mom saw me doing it and thought what’s the point of having a robo vac if you have to do that, but I told her the 30 seconds it takes each day to empty the canister, is worth my time of not having to vacuum and sweet my 1000 square foot of floors on my first floor of my house. We also have another 1000 sq ft finished basement that we rarely use, but I carry it down there occasionally and let it run down there too. That floor is vinyl with area rugs, and again no issues, or moves between hard floor and low pile rug just fine. The only thing is bc the docking station is upstairs, I just have to go down and retrieve the vacuum after a few hours to bring it up to the charger docking station, but it’s not a big deal to me...still I love this thing so much, that I plan to get a second one to keep on that level of my house since my basement is a big room. Our third level is more bedrooms and bathrooms, which is again carpet and tile, these bathrooms have high pile rugs. It does sometimes have trouble going over the high pile rugs in the bathroom, but not where it has gotten stuck, it just usually bunches up the rug and pushes it to the side. So often I just pick up the rugs and set on the toliet so it can move around and vacuum in the bathroom better. On the carpets it always seems to collect more dirt and hair, probably bc my cat likes to lay there, so I typically only run it one time on the carpet and then need to empty the filter and remove any hair tangle from the vacuum brush. Also, I take apart the filter and clean it with mild soap and water once a quarter. So not every month as they suggest, but every few months. This seems to be find. I have replaced the filter a few times and bought a 12 pack of replacement filters and brushes for like $12 on Amazon. Have only had to use a few so far! Also since I use this every day, I don’t find that I have to regularly vacuum my area rugs or my hardwoods. It is just my husband and I, so many days we never even walk through out living or dining room, and the eufy is enough keep it maintained until it is time to mop. I do additionally still sweep in my kitchen with a broom as needed bc that is a high traffic area and there is food that can drop. Also the bedrooms that are carpet and also a high traffic area, I do still vacuum with my upright, but I found that having this Eufy supplementing my upright vac is a great help with all the pet hair! The noise level is not bad. It obviously had to make noise, but it is significantly quieter than my upright when you run it on the standard level, which I typically do. The max suction level is louder, but I usually only use that in our master bedroom if I want a deeper level clean on our carpet. Also sometimes it goes over larger things (such as a plastic ice crystal that fell off a Christmas garland or the shell of a cat nail) and does not pick them up (it sort of shoots them out behind it), but it’s not a big deal to me, bc I gets all the pet fur, human hair, dust, and dirt, which are the main things I want it to get. The rare things it can’t pick up, I can get myself. Bottom line is anyone who has pets, and a lot of open square footage, should get this! A couple hundred bucks for something that you will use every day is so so so worth it! I have never wrote a review this long, but that is how much I love and recommend this vacuum. I have lots to say about it bc I use it so much. I really do plan to eventually get a second one for another level in my home. Also I think this would make a great gift for someone who is “techy” and just enjoyed gadgets, or it would make a great gift from adult children to their mother, as this would save her a lot of time.

Worth every Penny!
I waited 6 months to write this review, so I could really give an informed review. I hate when they want a review as soon as you unbox something, but I have to say I love this thing, worth every Penny, I spent $999 on sale I am very frugal with what I spend money on. This thing works exactly like it’s supposed to, my floors are just always clean now with very little effort from me. It’s a little tricky to get it to do a new location, I have a large house so there’s several rooms we rarely use so they’re not on a map, but I’m always able to do a little trial and error and get it to clean those less used rooms, I don’t really see instructions anywhere on how to do it exactly without tinkering with it, so I guess the instructions could be better, all I got was a poster, no book. It was simple to set up from what I remember, I struggled with the x8 hybrid but no struggle with this. I do very little floor cleaning nowadays, it frees up my time to do my other house cleaning chores, and my floors look great. The cleaning solution is only half empty after 6 months, it does not leave any residue and I’ve only changed the dust bag twice. My most frequently used map is 1377 sq feet and it takes it 143 minutes. That area is programmed to clean twice a week to sweep and mop at night while I sleep with medium water level and turbo suction x1 pass. I think it does have to recharge itself before it can finish, but when I wake up, my floors are clean, and the mop is drying itself. I’m probably supposed to do this more often, but I’ve only taken it apart once or twice and cleaned the dirty water reservoir within the actual robot, and the brush roller doesn’t really need anything done to it. I waited until about a month ago to program it to run unattended after I finally trusted that it will not get tangled in cords or run through any wet cat vomit so I went ahead and programmed it. It did get stuck on a small fluffy area rug I forgot to put up but I just had to rescue it in the morning and press the start button and it finished the job You can see on the map exactly what it does, if it had to avoid any cords or shoes it puts a little icon on the map to show you it’s exact path. It doesn’t mop about 1.5 inches from the wall, but I don’t care, if I only have to go around my edges with the mop once in a while that’s still better than the hours a week I spent on floor cleaning, it does vacuum the edges though with its little side brush. It’s my 3rd eufy, and I have liked them all, and they all still work, they just keep making better and better ones, so I keep buying the upgrades, I gave the x8 to my son and I keep my old bump and fumble one because it’s short enough to clean underneath my sectional sofa so I don’t have to pull it out from the wall. The x8 even fell down an entire flight of stairs once and still works. I have since learned to go ahead and make staircases no go zones for these robots even though they’re supposed to be able to detect a drop. I highly recommend this robot.

Comparing to a decade of iRobot vacs (update)
Update 6 months later after buying 2 The first one of these was so amazing that I bought a second one. I’ve had the second one for nearly a month and it has never worked. I’ve dealt with Eufy/Ankers customer service now twice and they make a good product trash. The second vacuum won’t drain the mop water. I can see the water pooling at the base of the unit. The issue is I can’t get anyone to actually read my complaint…. And I’m not alone. Ankers customer service is the worst of any corporation I’ve dealt with…ever. I’ve had to deal with their customer service 4 times. Twice I gave up and spent hundreds just replacing the product out of pocket because it wasn’t worth the hassle. I’ve been pretty brand loyal to Ankers products. They usually work, but when they don’t, it takes them WEEKS to resolve an issue. The time delay is mostly due to the fact that their Indian based customer service representatives don’t even read your emails/texts. I am not alone, Look in the reviews on all Anker products and you will find the same comments. So that fact that it is nearly impossible to get issues resolved takes their products from great to average. Currently I’ve had my second $1K+ vacuum for over a month and have not been able to use it. This final interaction has killed my brand loyalty. We have their locks, cameras, battery packs, cords, plugs and were looking at 2 additional items to buy in the next 6 months (their solar generator ( for our RV and their nebula projector) we will be going with their competitors for such large ticket items. Companies that do not stand by their products should fail. —— It’s nice to be excited about a robot vacuum again. This one is really, really great. As you can see from the pictures I was definitely an early adopter and I’ve been using robot vacuums for over a decade. The first one I got, the original roomba pet series was the little engine that could. It still trucks along and cleans well. I’ve had to replace some parts and the battery but it is a beast. Everything that came after got progressively smarter, and progressively worse. The iRobot brand is in shambles. So after researching and watching the Eufy brand develop we upgraded. And boy was it an upgrade. Factors: large dog (golden retriever), doggie door to the outside, large multi-floor home with complex layout, gigablast fios internet with mesh wifi router (fast and reliable WiFi signal throughout home). The brand: To be fair and upfront, there was a thumb on my scale towards Eufy because we already have their security cameras, locks, and home base, but I do not need everything to be linked , so we did consider other options. I was tepid Eufys customer service after having to use it a few times. Their customer service is definitely based in India and they are absolutely looking to resolve issues instead of solve them, but I feel that way about most large companies. The smaller for me was The Eufy interfaces (app, etc). They are better than anything else I’ve used on the market. Pros: 1. The app and general interface on this thing is amazing. So much easier to use and gives you way more control. You can see from the pictures, the iRobot mapping feature is not accurate and gives you limited control. Also, the iRobot frequently ignores its own rules like do not disturb. I had to consistently manually shut off the vacuum during my working hours. Finally we have a large house and the irobot would get lost and not be able to return home. We found it dead in the house daily. We would have to figure out where it finally died since it was different every time. The Eufy hasn’t gotten lost at all since its mapping is so much better and the order it cleans anticipates the return to its base. Can’t say enough about the mapping feature. 2. The vacuum works way better than the iRobot versions. It may seem strange but I believe a lot of it has to do with the pattern it vacuums in. The grid is way more effective and it leaves a cleaner look. The suction is really good for pet hair and dander. It is also a champ at the dirt and leaves the dog brings in through the doggie door. It does lose a point when it comes to dog food. It maybe able to handle some of the smaller stuff but I have a large dog and it just pushes around his food. This is the one area iRobot shined. It handled dog food amazingly. It was like a tank crawling over carpets with a high clearance, so maybe that is the difference. I did turn off the eufy small object setting and that helped but it still struggles. Overall the eufys cleaning pattern, ability to control the suction and times it cleans a room (at the room, zone, or schedule level) more than makes up for the dog food issue, but I did take one star away. 3. The navigation and ability of the little robot is so much better. All the iRobots would continually get stuck under kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, and living room furniture. It was to the point we had to save it at least once a day. There was no set it and forget it on that thing. The Eufy doesn’t struggle nearly as much. It is still gets caught on cords and large particles but it is way more rare and is also a lot easier to fix when it does. Often with the iRobot I would have to take it back to its base and restart the entire cleaning cycle to get it to start cleaning again. Having to start the cleaning cycle over again caused all sorts of issues. 4. This is my first mopping vacuum but that’s not because I am not familiar with the market, just the opposite. This is the first time I’ve felt that the market has offered a mopping product I would like. In the past wet carpets, stinky mildewy pads, and lack of practicability prevented me from purchasing. So far, this one works really well…for what it is. To be fair, this is mopping a floor in the same way using a swiffer wet jet is. This is not a deep clean. Now, if it mops on a daily basis, it could probably prevent a lot of the need to deep clean. But this is definitely geared towards maintenance and your floors should start out clean. Cons: 1. The subscription. It’s always the subscription. No, it’s not the typical subscription where the product won’t work unless you pay monthly, but you can only use eufy floor cleaner. Eye roll. Time will tell how much I’m willing to pay for the mopping, especially given its perceived value. I may end up just using water and deep cleaning on my own. We will see. 2. The vacuum itself is much quieter than the iRobot, however the base is much louder. That means when it goes to clean itself or empty one of the containers it’s definitely loud. It will disrupt what you’re doing. With that being said, I’ve had to send back my iRobot base three times before abandoning the product because the suction was not enough. I will take loud over non-functioning any day.
