I was curious about butterfly pea flower tea (blue pea tea) after seeing the amazing color-changing effects online—and I’m so glad I tried it! The tea brews into a vibrant blue that looks absolutely stunning in a glass. Just a squeeze of lemon juice and it magically transforms into a deep purple or pink, which is always fun to watch! This organic Butterfly Pea Flower tea makes a fantastic “Lavender Lemonade”, among other drink concoctions (be they alcoholic or nonalcoholic). They also make a great organic blue or purple food-safe food color, to color your white Easter eggs. To make the blue colored Butterfly Pea tea turn purple after you’ve brewed it, you just add fresh lemon juice. Looks pretty cool! ~~~ Lavender Lemonade Recipe ~~ What you do is you grab a tea kettle and tea steeper and then brew a full kettle of the Butterfly 🦋 Pea Flower Tea first - with some fresh, food-grade organic lavender flowers and then, for more flavor, add in raspberry or peppermint loose leaf tea into the steeper (to steep along with the lavender loose leaf tea) and then allow the lavender / Butterfly 🦋 tea to brew for about ten minutes and then let it cool down. You’ll have this beautiful, aromatic solid blue color to start off with…. Then, using a citrus juicer, you’ll juice (or squeeze) 8 to 11 fresh organic lemons (to make for the lemonade). Add water, with the Lavender Butterfly Pea tea that you’ve just made from your kettle. Finally, add your freshly squeezed lemon juice, and your sweetener of choice. Mix it all together, and watch your drink turn instantly from blue to purple! {{ Prince would’ve loved it. 🎼🎸💜}} I like drinking it with fresh, local organic honey, but if you’re a diabetic or are watching your weight, you can use monk fruit and / or allulose as an alternative zero-sugar sweetener). If you are looking for a natural dye to color your creations, this is it, however you'll have to add your own flavor as this has none I could detect....lol

The amount of tea is quite large and a great value for the money. The quality of the tea is amazing. It makes a lot of tea. Adding lemon will change blue to a purple color. The tea is versatile and can handle layers of different flavors, iced or hot. I made iced with lemonade iced cubes, fresh lemon slices and mint, raspberry syrup. The possibilities are endless.

I love this tea mainly because it’s cool how it changes colors, that’s the main reason I bought it. I’m sure kids would love it as well.
