Good value for a frequently used dowel size
This is a super useful dowel size at a very good price. The dowels all look good, nice and smooth. Since I'll use these structurally with wood glue, I appreciate that they're unfinished

Undersized. Like... Not even close.
There's a place where you can call a metric drill bit the imperial size, because it will still allow a tap and then that fastener. There are guides for this to help you find the nearest size, where the hole will need to be exact, or one size very close, but larger. A hole filling dowel is not such a situation where you can round up or down and call it good because it fits the actual space without any further modification. I measured these with my digital calipers. The 1/2" dowel is .8mm smaller than half an inch. That is because they used the metric to imperial rounding up. This also means my 1/2" auger drill bit is going to drill holes that are actually for a 1/2" dowel, and not one that is .8mm smaller. .8 smaller means a .4 gap all around the dowel. Nearly a half mm of glue. Not acceptable by anyone's standards. It's a real shame, because they're of excellent quality. They just decided to re-badge a metric product with an imperial label.

Not 3/8, but quality walnut
They are metric it seems, not 3/8". Used my calipers before choosing a drill bit, so so issues. Mine were all heart wood with good rich color. I was expecting some sapwood due to the price, so was pleasantly surprised.

.234” IS ACTUAL SIZE.
Like the other reviews have mentioned, the 1/4” dowel is actually smaller. When measured it’s actually .234” so if you want these to fit tightly in your wood working buy a 15/16 fractional drill or a ‘A’ letter drill bit. Other than that, they are consistent and straight.

Sizing is wrong
1/2” dowels are not half inch. As you can see on the micrometer, they’re .467, in the following picture is a 12mm fisch bit measuring at .47. Your dowels will be flopping around like a hotdog down a hallway if you take sellers word and drill for 1/2” Other than the obvious size discrepancy, they’re quality dowels, just use the right bit.

Don’t trust the stated measurements
Inaccurate measurement/description. Says 1/4” — but it’s not. They’re all measuring .225”, so they’re way too loose in a 1/4” hole. Also, they’re not 12” long; they’re 11 3/4”

Awesome 1/2 inch Black Walnut dowels, to make hinges with
These dowels are great. They are actually 1/2 inch in diameter, so they fit nicely into the 1/2 inch groove that I router into my boxes, to make hinges. I bought some 3/8 inch dowels from someone else, that are a lil bit bigger than 3/8 inch, and will not fit into my 3/8 inch grooves. And I'm pretty sure I don't want to have to pay to find an 11/32 inch diameter router bit.

Don’t buy these if you actually want 1/4 inch dowels. For the seller, 1/4 inch is 6.35 mm, these aren’t even 6mm, I measured about about half the pack and the average diameter is 5.8mm.
