Great product, poor packaging.
I have been reading mixed reviews of Optima batteries since Johnson Controls took ownership, but decided to give it a shot since I could not find a comparable alternative that was proven superior. So far the battery is everything I expected - strong and consistent with a nice reserve capacity. If anything changes I will update this review but so far so good. The only issue was the packaging - actually there literally was NONE the way I found it on my porch. I came home and found the battery lying NEXT the box it was shipped in on it's side, and the box had simply "busted" at both the top and bottom. The UPS guy did not even make an effort to put it back, and I don't blame him as it's not his job. Why the shipper used a paper-thin box with only one strip of tape, I cannot understand. I know for a fact when you order an Optima from the factory it comes in a very thick cardboard box with strong tape. This was the opposite - a box meant for shipping teddy bears not heavy batteries. I would not purchase this battery from Amazon again, simply because this vendor chooses to save a few dollars on economy packaging methods. I would rather pay more and not find my battery lying on the ground, obviously having burst through the bottom before the delivery man was finished setting the box down.

Simply, the best battery for your vehicle!!!
Honestly, how can you go wrong with this battery. Expensive, but worth every penny. Starts my Toyota Tundra like an F/A 18 spinning up it's jet engines!! Also, can mount this dry, non flooded AGM battery in any position. Cannot get any better!!!

Not as solid as you might hope
I've gone through 3 of these in just 2 years in my truck. Not very resilient batteries, and it's not just a matter of them losing capacity. Most of them still had a decent capacity when they died, but the power quality/stability was reduced significantly. Tons of flickering and fluctuation, often starting only a month or 2 after installing the battery new. These things are junk - maybe they used to be good, but they aren't anymore. Plus my experience with Optima's CS is that they're run out of someone's house, and they definitely do not care if there's a problem with one of their products. Bottom line is these batteries can't be relied on, and I no longer trust them to be the best of the best. For the price, I'd 100% rather use cheaper batteries and just carry a spare - more reliable than this. And that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Long life - but potentially catastrophic ending, if you try to stretch the service life too far.
I bought one of these, here on Amazon, in 2015 and have used it on my tractor for the past 10 years. It finally started to have trouble holding a charge about a year ago, so I added a trickle charger (battery minder) hard wired into the tractor - and that worked until today. Today, I had trouble getting the tractor to crank, and trouble getting the battery to take a charge. So I put it on a battery booster for about 20 minutes. I got back on the tractor and turned the key and BLAM!!!. The battery exploded and blew the top off in many pieces. But I didn't notice any acid and nobody got hurt. The top blew apart, but the sides remained intact. So my advice is to buy this battery and enjoy many years of reliable operation. But after 10 years - pitch it and get another. Don't go through nutrolls trying to get even more years out of it. Take the win.

No what they used to be
These used to be way better and I would swear by them. They would last 10years and multiple full discharges. Lastest one, I'm 4 years in and its completely shot. Was treated well with no full discharges. Basically what you get out of a standard battery for 1/3 the price. I'll look to see if there are other others available now before pulling the trigger in another one of these. It's possible I just got subpar one compared to what I was used to with Optima.

Premium military grade battery
I just replaced my Optima Yellow Top, 6.5 years after it was manufactured. My current battery is close to the end of it's service life, but that may be another year or ? My neighbor will let me know how long the old battery lasts in his spare truck. This is a premium AGM battery that fits my Tundra without modifications. This is a dual purpose battery used for starting and high amp hour use. So you run your Jeep or 4x4 Truck in remote places, need extra juice for lights, winch, or fridge? Or you just never want to have a dead battery in your work truck. Yeah, spend a few extra bucks for the right tool. If you just want the best battery available then you want either Optima or Odyssey AGM batteries.

Great Deal,Good Product?
It was purchased by another person and returned. I got a good deal on it ,it looked brand new when I received it. I had to put a a 8 hr charge on it ,after receiving it . I installed it into my truck, and have checked the the charge on it twice, and it took a hour charge each time. Hopefully that is normal, and it does not go bad on me . I am disappointed so far !!
