Always Easy to Make and Delicious to Eat
I have made this soup many times and find it easy to make and consistently delicious! I generally add a pound of sausage and serve it with freshly baked cornbread! Yummy! (I’m glad that I can purchase it through Amazon as it is not sold in Grocery stores!)

Great for travel
Great for lunch at home, and AWESOME as a meal when traveling- just add hot water and it tastes great ! I sometimes have a crazy travel schedule and being able to heat water in the hotel room’s coffee maker, then add it to a cup of this soup mix - that works ! Obviously a full meal from the hotel restaurant would be more substantial, but with flight delays, closed kitchens, etc, it’s great to have this as backup. As I’m writing this I am packing for a trip to Japan, and I’m packing a few of these to take along (sorry for the trivia in this review.)My suggestion - try it !!

Great base for soup (and possibly a casserole)
I cooked 8 oz. of sliced mushrooms with some chunks of cooked chicken breast I got from Costco (their rotisserie chicken meat that they sell in 42 oz. packages) along with a teaspoon of powdered porcini mushrooms, 8 cups of boiling water, the soup mix packet, and finished with a little half and half. It is really good, and will last for quite a few meals. Is it healthy? Not as healthy as home made, I’m sure, but ready in short order. The mushroom powder and half and half were additions from the first time I made the soup. I didn’t add very much, but it made a huge difference in the richness of flavor. I will definitely add more vegetables next time, possibly slivered carrot and peas. The soup on its own lacks something, but this mix can easily be enhanced with ingredients from your refrigerator and pantry.

Great flavor - in single packets | 16-month expiration date
I love the taste of Bear Creek Potato Soup - and used to use the big packets. But, being single, I could never eat that much, so, unfortunately, I wasted a lot. Was glad to find these single packets. Now I can easily have just a bowl of soup w/a toasted half-sandwich: A favorite for fall or winter. EXPIRATION DATE: for the curious: I received this on Oct. 21, 2023, and the exp. date is Feb. 14 2025. Note: This soup has very tiny potato slivers - I like the added texture. Also: highly recommend adding spices. Rosemary, thyme, and/or oregano.

Sumptuous soup
To be perfectly honest initially two things that I will buy that's pre-made pre boxed that a I don't screw up and two that I like this is one of them. I only just had this stupid the first time two years ago and now I just can't stop buying it they unfortunately stop selling it in the stores so to Amazon I went and there it was in all it's glory. Better value here ! I love this soup on a nice chilly day with some fantastic crusty Italian bread or even garlic bread And we always had extra cheese and diced potato. This is definitely a winter mainstay in our house when I don't feel like making a homemade pot of soup that needs to be simmering all day. I cannot express you how easy it is to make Packet of soup mix water 15 min and boom you're done .. Can't get any easier than that And it feeds a good many people.

Appears grainy but tastes fine. Picky eater liked it more than I did.
You can see the powder grains on the side of bowl (even after a thorough whisking), which wasn't appetizing. Not a deal breaker at all, but I wouldn't serve it to guests. I needed some extra seasoning (just used pepper) to enjoy it, and even then, I liked it less as I ate it. (Probably just my hunger going down, lol.) My sister loved it though, and I don't think she added extra seasoning. The soup is easy to cook, but it's not meant for more than one use. The bag is not resealable, which is annoying when cooking for only two people. I didn't want to cook it all and save it, because I doubt the pasta would save well. There are no directions for anything other than the entire bag, but the serving suggestion makes it obvious that 1/3 cup power and 1 cup water is the individual serving size. I wish the veggies were more hearty, but my sister appreciated that they were not chunky and obvious. I think this is great for picky eaters. I'm sure there are more ways I could have livened it up for my taste, but since I was just wanted a quick meal, I didn't add any major ingredients or changes to the prep. I wouldn't buy it again, though my sister might. ;-)
