The camera(s) themselves are great. I got a front & rear set for both our cars and they've been very useful. I hadn't heard of the brand before but I'd weighed up quite a few options with comparisons & reviews, and found this to be the best balance between price & resolution / quality. The quality of the image is really good, and it's easy to switch between the front and rear camera on the "screen unit". So much so that I sometimes use the rear one as an auxiliary reversing cam although that's obviously not the intention. The touchscreen itself is very good, no issues accessing the functions through the screen, although the app also makes it very easy to do. The recording options are good, allowing you to change the length of each clip, customise the display, flip the image etc. It comes with a good length cable, although I'm going to buy a hardwire kit and attach it to the fusebox soon - for now I'm just using the cigarette lighter port. It has some tools with it to help you slide the cable into the trim, which proved very handy. The actual mounting is neat. The anti-static stickers go on the window and then a regular adhesive pad attaches the camera to the anti-static meaning your windows don't get damaged. The adhesive holds it very securely though so make sure it's in place before you push down. I actually managed to lose one of the anti-static stickers when I was installing mine but the GKU customer service was excellent. I got in touch asking if I could buy a replacement but the rep handling my ticket, Ella, just asked me for my address and were happy to send me a replacement. She also helped answer a query I had about the "monitoring" functionality when hardwired - so thank you, Ella - fantastic support that really justified my purchase. My minor gripe is that it would be superb if the cameras were able to connect to your home WiFi when in-range and allow you to access the videos that way (or automatically move them to some cloud storage), rather than having to connect to the internal WiFi of the camera to retrieve them (or remove the card). But, really a relatively minor issue as I very rarely need to actually retrieve a clip.

High Build Quality: Seriously solid piece of kit. Feels sturdy in your hand, has a good weight to it, and looks well made. There is no reason to believe this dash cam will not last many years to come-- and given the reliable experience I have had with it over this past week, I can say at no point have I been anything other than impressed with its reliability to perform. Accessories: Everything you need to get up and running is already thought of and included in this D700; they even give you a 64gig SD card, the car detailing tool, cable sticker holders and 2 x very large electrostatic films which are very forgiving if you decide to shift the camera a bit, and use the extra included 3M adhesive pads. Dual-Camera System & Performance: Really useful, and the picture in picture option means I can see both the front in 4K and back 1080mp views easily at all times whilst driving. Also performance related, is the longevity of this piece of hardware-- they back the D700 with a 12 month warranty, and promised performance in -4*F, saying it will operate 'flawlessly', which having used it now, I actually believe. Night Vision: My first use of the cam was in the rain, and around dusk. I can safely say that thanks to WDR tech used in the D700, I can make out the reg plate of the car behind me-- in low lighting, and raining decently, which they have mitigated with integration of features such as WDR technology, OIS, IR and 'starlight' cameral recording settings. The tech, along with the rear cam rotated downwards (unlike many other competitors) , means it is easy to ensure the focal point is where another car's reg plate would likely be (IE, centre of the rear windscreen, facing down at a 45* angle rather than straight on). The front D700 dash cam is 4k and has a seriously superior wide angle lense--170*. I could see not only the footpath to my left, my entire lane, and about 2/3rds of on-coming traffics lane with the D700's front 4K cam. That is ridiculously inclusive of any and all potential road hazards and makes me feel better knowing that I have a superior level of coverage in case of an accident. Installation: I wasn't sure if I was going to struggle with this, and considered having someone else install it professionally. I was worried for nothing! The installation booklet which comes in the box had a very easy to follow diagram-- and the orange tool they provide makes tucking up and hiding all the wires an absolute breeze to do yourself! It looks like a pro instal without the cost of having to pay someone to do it Menu Interface: I found it very easy and user friendly to navigate thought the D700's menus. Was very cusomisable-- from if you wanted the car cabin audio recorded, your speed noted, and your GPS; it was all a simple toggle off or on, which made setting up the D700 a super easy process. I am still marvelling at how many settings, and customisation features this D700 comes with for this price--loop recording and a G-sensor (detects if you've been hit, and immediately begins recording-- and DOES NOT allow that clip to be overwritten!) there's even 24-7 monitoring if you buy a hardware kit. So, seriously, mega peace of mind with the D700. Touch Screen: I must admit, the size definitely matters! It's not too big, but not too small either-- the touch screen is brilliant because it is big enough to use easily and navigate the settings, without being too obtrusive, or blocking my field of vision. I would describe the touch screen as 'nippy' and fresh-- making its use incredibly easy for just about anyone. Connectivity: The 5G is a BIG plus-- many dash cams are still using 2.4G, and are thus fighting all the other 2.4G bandwidth devices in your location. The D700 is 5G, so you can dependably know that your footage is safe, and securely transferred quickly to your chosen device should you require it at a later time. I wanted to also say that I was actually really impressed with the quality and generous length of the wires. They are very well insulated, and comparable to the rubbery quality and just a bit shy of the diameter of a phone charging cable. At no point during unboxing was I anything but impressed with the effort and attention that has been paid to ensuring this is a good quality dash cam that should last for years to come.

This was my first time installing a dash cam myself. I had a Rexing in my last car but didn't like the size or video quality. GKU came highly recommended on here so I thought I'd give it a shot. I wanted something low profile that records front/back with parking mode, and high quality audio/video. I've had it for 6 months now and it's performed flawlessly. It took me about 1.5 hours to install, including the hardwire kit. It sits nicely behind my rearview mirror and the back camera is unobtrusive as well. Both cameras adjust easily and the app works great. My last dashcam had a hard time displaying license plates, this one does not have that problem. Video is crisp day and night. Parking mode has been really cool too, it will pay for itself if I ever get hit. I really like the touchscreen. The screen comes on for a few seconds to let you know it’s recording, then it dims. Helps a lot at night. The built in GPS is great, I noticed a lot of dash cams (Thinkware especcially) you have to buy a seperate antenna or add on for GPS, but this one has it included without any additional wires. The built in Wi-Fi allows you to watch and download the videos from the cam on your phone without taking the SD card out. Something I never knew I needed, but is so convienient! I did have an issue with a hardwire kit from a different vendor, so I emailed their customer support for help. They were happy to quickly resolve my issue. If you decide to hardwire your cam, I would reccommend buying a hardwire kit straight from GKU. I cheaped out on a different one and it killed my car battery. Not worth saving a couple bucks. Zero issues since I got rid of that. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase.

I recently purchased the GKU D700 dash cam, and I’m really happy with my purchase! The installation process was straightforward and setting up the various settings was quite simple. The companion app for the dash cam is user-friendly, making it easy to browse through videos and adjust settings as needed. The video quality from the front camera is exceptional—clear enough to easily read number plates and see the surroundings of the vehicle. The rear camera is also solid, providing a good view of what's happening behind the car. I did encounter an issue with the rear camera, but GKU’s customer service was outstanding. Ella from the support team helped me troubleshoot the problem and promptly sent me a replacement when the issue couldn't be resolved. This dash cam feels thoughtfully made. The front camera is very crisp with 4k and the rear camera does the job with 1080p. The cable installation was a breeze with the tools provided and the cable length perfect for my SUV. There is a screen saver option where the screen gets dark even while recording after being on for 1minute. (can change to 2 mins or 3 mins in the option with this option on) This is really nice as I am not distracted due to the screen while driving. The front camera weighs a bit and the static film sticker provided was not as high quality so the dash cam eventually fell off. But the customer service was excellent and they provided me with a different set of static film at no cost. It is secured now. It locks the video when it detects crash or impact where it records it and does not delete it as part of the loop recording. The loop recording is nice as it records continuously while the oldest saved videos are deleted automatically. The app is easy to use as you can use wifi at home to connect both camera to the gku App. The recorded videos are in 5min interval which is the perfect length to look for recorded videos. The video angle is also nice as it manages to record vision wider than the drivers point of view- it is able to record a little bit of blind spots on the side. The touch screen is brilliant and makes things easy to access the menu. The microphone also has mute option so you can mute too. I was not disappointed with this product at all and the product reviews were right. I am glad I went with this product and recommend to others.
