Asahi Industry -Stainless, Fish Bone Tweezers III

These are my favorite fish bone removal tool. I use them to remove Salmon bones before smoking or after cooking. Removing bones before cooking/smoking can be very challenging but these work great. They are high quality and feel great in the hand. I use the bent part of the nose to pick the bones from the side, it's odd but works the best! You can often get multiple bones at the same time.

I tried needle nose pliers first to see if those would work (they were terrible). This tool is amazing! It firmly grasps pin bones and helps you remove the bone without having to damage the rest of the fillet. Makes preparing fish so much easier - this is an absolute must have tool for fish.

I have fish tweezers but thought this plier version made a lot of sense and when I found these “Japanese” pliers, I was excited as I’m always happy to pay a little extra for Japanese quality kitchen goods. I was a bit concerned with two other reviews that said these were made in China but in the “questions and answers” section of the listing, the seller stated that they were made in Japan, so I went ahead and purchased. Sure enough, when I got mine and peeked back the label there it was, “Made in China”. The quality feels cheap and I am especially annoyed at being deceived by the seller, so these are going back.
