got these as a gift, im a jewel smith. I ended up without my plate for melting casting balls and just grabbed one of these and actually put it on a piece of wood on my desk, and it worked perfectly. I still use them surprisingly, they are perfect for platinum and silver. they are small, and they move easily. perfect for what I need even though it looks a little silly.

This made a lot of bars in a month. Finally cracked it but I like it so much I decided to buy another. It is the perfect size.

Perfect size for what i needed. Seems to be good quality and is nice and smooth. I have not used it yet so I will update when I see how long it lasts.

Item came as described. Short, yet useful directions if you're new to melting down metals. Surprised at how small it is. But it said it was 1kg. It was just my imangineation that was wrong. Haha But really works well. Now I will say once it stops being red, that don't mean it's cool enough to touch. Get one of those point thermometer things, and some good like welder kinda gloves. Purchased for my son. Should came with a warning book to make mom stay in the house. Haha I will ask if he actually ever weighed the block. It's cute as a button I mean block!
