Review: The Essential "Hands-Free" Companion for Every Pilgrim - If you are heading for Hajj or Umrah—especially for the first time—this isn't just a book; it’s a piece of travel gear. Its "flip-book" design and focus on the practical "how-to" make it the gold standard for staying focused on your worship rather than fumbling through a heavy manual. The "Neck Cord" Design: This is the product’s "killer feature." The adjustable string allows you to wear the book around your neck. During Tawaf or Sa’i, when your hands are busy or you’re in a crowd, you can lift it up, read the Dua, and let it drop back down. Splash-Proof & Durable: The pages are laminated. This is vital because you will get splashed at the Zamzam fountains, and you will be sweating in the Heat of Makkah. It doesn't tear or smudge. Crystal Clear Layout: The book uses a colour-coded "step-by-step" approach. It tells you exactly what to do, what to say (with Arabic, English translation, and transliteration), and where to go next. The diagrams of the Haram and the Hajj sites are simple and easy to orient. Concise Duas: It doesn't overwhelm you with 500 pages of history. It gives you authentic, sunnah-based Duas for each specific station (the Miqat, the Green Lights, Safa and Marwa, etc.). Things to Keep in Mind Size vs. Depth: This is a practical guide, not a deep theological study. If you want to learn the complex history of the Kaaba or the different schools of jurisprudence (Madhhab) in depth, read a larger book before you leave. This book is for the "field." The String Attachment: While the cord is helpful, the punch hole where it attaches can eventually wear down if you are very rough with it. I'd recommend double-checking the knot before you start your Tawaf. Small Font: Because it is pocket-sized (roughly 6 x 12 cm), the text is small. If you have significant trouble reading small print, you might need your reading glasses handy. Final Verdict There is a reason you see thousands of these hanging around people’s necks in Makkah. It removes the "what do I do now?" anxiety, allowing you to focus on the spiritual significance of the journey. It is the best £10-£12 you will spend on your trip. Excellent. Highly recommended
I bought this for my hajj in 2018. I had bought a few handbooks to help my preparations and be accessible for use during the hajj. This was the one I used throughout my hajj ...pages so easy to turn, all the information is explained in simplistic terms which is what one needs during the intensity of hajj, and has useful safety and travel tips to for hajj e.g. map of haram shareef, signage for Arafat, key Arabic words to communicate if in need, do and don't during tawaf....It comes with a rope so you can tie the hajj guide round your neck...I do not recommend using this. I used to keep the hajj guide safely stored on my belt which had a zip compartment. I used to take it out when needed. Also, I recommend using post it notes along the edges of the page so you can go straight to the section without having to look for it...e.g. dua for end of saee. The other handbooks I bought found them a bit too wordy sometimes.....during g hajj or umrah, you need a guide which is straight to the point, easy to understand and relevant to your needs.... Some of writings could be bigger print, but overall, highly recommended hajj and umrah guide.

Hajj umra guide very helpful
This was very helpful. I read while I was on my pilgrimage. If you wear glasses it may still be small and difficult to read. You can screenshot and read from phone if that works better.

Bought these too many times
Very first time I was given this book during hajj by my agency. This little booklet is designed for any first time pilgrims to find their journey really easy. I use this book during Umrah and used it for all My past visits to Mecca. I bought this book for all my friends who went to Mecca to perform Umrah. So it is really handy to have as it has got step by step process laid out both in English and Arabic.
