It was a lot of work to put this together but I took my time. Considering I'm a widow who doesn't do that much building, lol, I found the instructions (mostly pictures) clear enough that I could follow them, and it was much simpler than I expected after seeing all the pieces and hardware. If you have more than one person working on it and if you have a power screwdriver it'd go quicker. I find it quality and sturdy. You can't put heavy items in the drawers as the bottom isn't made for that but it's plenty sturdy enough for the art supplies I'm using it for. You do have to remember the old adage of, "Measure once, cut twice, measure twice, cut once." If you throw this together without paying close attention to the instructions and which is right and which is left, then you're going to run into problems. Do it right, double-check what you're doing, and you've got a great piece of furniture. I couldn't be happier with it. :)

Absolutely LOVE this cabinet. I use it as my office supplies cabinet in my office. It’s a beast to put together, lots of parts but it’s beautiful. The drawers open and close so smoothly, the drawers are a nice size to hold stuff. If you’re thinking about buying it, buy it. You won’t be disappointed. I decorated my drawers to match my accent wall in my office. Love it!

Purchased 4 of these units, great value for the quality. Once assembled they look and work great. Packaging was good and all arrived in good condition. Would not recommend them if you mind installation time. Our first unit took 60 minutes to build with a powered screwdriver and previous furniture building experience. 4th unit took 45 minutes after getting the hang of it and setting up an assembly line, it's just a lot of little pieces to have to put together.

These are great cabinets "BUT" leave about 2 hours for assembaly more if u strip holes(lol) instrustions are very good not in chinglish and is best to use screw driver instead of power tool to drive screws in very easy to strip holes in particle board when installing the drawer slides I used rubbermade storage to separate screws dowels and fasteners .They supplied extra parts very rare VERY GOOD. I had to use elmers glue on a couple of the dowels (to loose ) but i bought 2 cabinets and am very happy .

This is definitely worth the price. The quality and durability is that of ikea furniture. Pretty easy to get together - could do it alone, but it’s definitely made easier with another person. I use these to store my magic cards and honestly they work so nice! 5k card packed in there in only two drawers. Give it a try:)

This is a great product and it turned out very well for me. My entire office is built with Alex and Eket furniture from IKEA. The quality of this drawer unit is similar to those IKEA products, but it requires some more assembly (it is also cheaper). The drawers are very similar in quality and functionality to those that come with IKEA products. I did not experience any issues with drawers or casters or the paint job. I user this drawer unit for keeping office supplies and I have a multifunction laser printer on top of it. It also matches the rest of my furniture from IKEA. It took a bit more than 1 hour to put together (I am very used to assembling IKEA products and I used power tools to go faster). Overall very good quality for the price. I would definitely buy another one.

This was perfect for my daughter's dorm room! They fit under her desk and the lofted bed which was great. We loved that they are on wheels so you can easily move them. They were easy to build and the instructions were easy to understand.

I’ve waffled on buying an Alex from IKEA for a few years, but I try to upcycle, and 199.00 + a three-hour drive to the store + particleboard/MDF was prohibitive. I was having no luck snagging something secondhand, and I need something that stores as much as possible in a specific footprint. I like that the drawers can be pulled out like trays. Here, the housing is just 2” wider and 2” deeper than the stack of drawers. Without the wheels, they tuck under my workbench, and I while don’t know that it would stay solid if it were dragged around regularly, they’re more than sturdy enough in a set place. Drawers have only a thin MDF bottom, but the drawers’ rails are screwed on through the bottom & help hold them to the underside of the drawers. They’ll hold pounds of paper well, making materials super-accessible for journaling and collage. I wouldn’t leave drawers hanging out while loaded with weight, though, which would affect its longevity. I bought two of these 7-drawer units, and together they offer loads more storage than the Alex, and still I saved over 50.00. However, I have blisters—it’s easy screwing but so many screws! I did it all by hand, only because I didn’t want to use a power driver and risk stripping the pilot holes. Drawers and body are particle-board. Drawer rails are super smooth and easy—just really sink those screws. If yours aren’t smooth gliding, slow down and look at the rails. You may have in installed one using the wrong holes in the metal rail. I used wood glue in the wood dowel holes, just so it would be sturdier as that cures. Take your time. It took me all day, but I didn’t want to ruin my joints or pilot holes. This is not fine furniture, and it needs wiped down once assembled, but it’s well worth the money. Packed impeccably well, though, and bits and bobs are clearly labeled. Use your own ratchet screwdriver! Buying two at once is like having two knee replacements at once. It hurts more than seems possible, but getting it over all at once is the way to go. I think with light use they’ll last years. I took “light use” into consideration when I bought them. Kids might destroy them fairly quickly.
