This is a fabulous drop-foot brace. The metal hook that attaches to your first lace is firm and secure. You do not need to attach a permanent bracket - which are needed by braces which use a velcro loop to attach to the first lace. I love that you can use one brace on multiple shoes. This makes it highly cost effective - you only have to buy one. The straps around your ankle are soft and comfortable for all day use. This brace is highly effective. Highly recommended.

I came down with stupid horrible drop foot about twenty-one years now, after an accident where I broke my back. At first I went with the huge, thick, intrusive, and uncomfortable, wait, and embarrassing AFO that my doctor wanted me to use. I had to pick out ONE pair of tennis shoes, and one had to be a half a foot longer than the other one. It limited me to a single pair of shoes all year round. I hated wearing that thing, riding up my leg. So for a long, painful while, I went with nothing at all. I just limped my way around from accidental fall to accidental trip, until I had fallen on my right knee so much, that I sure my meniscus. I had to get another surgery! When that fiasco was over, I decided I’d better use a cane, which was embarrassing to me because I was only thirty years old. Finally, Amazon came around and introduced me to these smaller, less visible options. I decided to try one. But the one I tried was not lifting my toes enough and I’d still trip over my toes all the time. I just figured my drip foot was too bad for one of those chinchy cloth ones. UNTIL I TRIED THIS PARTICULAR STYLE OF BRACE. I had, quite to my surprise, found thee brace for me! This thing held my toes up enough to actually stop tripping. This brace has LITERALLY STOPPED ME FROM DOZENS OF FALLS! Not only does it somehow lift me toes up enough to stop my tripping, but I was no longer forced to pick one TENNIS-SHOE to wear my brace with. Well, you do have to he have a strong strap to put it on with. But I find that any tennis-shoes laces, or sandals with straps can usually fit within the mechanism that attaches them. Seriously, these have changed my life. My falls are attributed to a for meniscus and a full knee replacement, and now, now they’ve almost all but stopped. (Occasionally crazy trip) Don’t sell yourself short. Try it.
