A pilcher picture
This review is for the Kindle HD version. I believe I had seen the print version and thought that it was a bit big and heavy. I think it was the kind of size that you can't really carry around with you on a Metro. So I bought the Kindle version and it is really good. Extremely sexy and of course totally portable. The author has done really well. Pilcher knows his comics and as soon as I'd read THIS book I bought its sister volume, which might be even better but that's a matter of opinion. I totally recommend this book in its Kindle version, and I am sure the print version is equally good.

Four Stars
Useful comic history.

Nicely presented, could have been more insightful.
Getting Alan Moore to write the introduction to your book about the history of erotic comics is something of a double edged sword because the first thing one reads is well written, insightful - it has real substance. I carried on reading into the body of the book itself and I missed all of the good stuff I'd been treated to in the introduction. It's not badly written, by any means, but as a subject it deserves the attention of somebody who recognises how fundamental and revealing the depiction of the erotic is for a society. It's not a bland subject but in this book it got a pretty bland writer.

Comprehensive history and Fun read
I highly recommend this book due to its informative content, high-quality illustrations and overall it was a fun read. This book covers the history of erotic comics across the globe after 1970's. First in America, then in Europe and last in Japan and it finishes its exploration with thoughts on the future of the medium in the internet landscape. The book proudly upholds the high bar set up by the first volume. I recommend this book to everybody who likes erotica and comics.

Hard back hard core!
Erotic Comics 2: A Graphic History from the Liberated '70s to the Internet The second volume of Tim Pilcher's handsome analysis of the history of sex comics is even more sumptuous than the first. It's full colour, lavishly illustrated pages delve into the last forty years of adult sequential storytelling, covering an amazing range of styles. Pretty much, you'll find all your favourite creators represented from Alan Moore, Howard Chakin, Gilbert Hernandez through to Giovanna Casotto, Milo Manara and Frank Cho, not to mention huge amounts of Japanese erotica. Sometimes books on comics don't reproduce enough of the original strips to actually read anything, but that isn't the case here. If you have never sampled any naughty comics, this is a marvellous starting point to let you discover who and what is out there. Dip in and sample the huge variety of styles and subjects being produced. With a fantastic sense of design and beautiful reproduction this is a book that will grace any coffee table... or maybe not if your aunt Tilly is due around for tea (well... maybe even then?)John A. Buena introducción al comic erótico
Libro bueno para adentrarse en el comic erótico. Sin embargo se observa muy disperso en varias corrientes y los aborda de manera muy general.

More of a History than just pics.
A very well done book chronicling the history of erotic comics from the 70's on up. Each artist or genre is given a page or two of description along with a few examples of siad artist. Well done

No Bugs Bunny here
Well written, with illustrations that are hotter than real life. Even without the text it's well worth a look just for a hand job! Perfect reading for a night home alone in bed! [email protected]

Worthwhile
Other quality stimulating erotica out there as a whole not too offensive or degrading: Fireside Orgies, Naughty Escapades, Visions of Giovanna, Casotto, Omaha Collection 1, Felines, Great Moves, Stray Moonbeams, Attractive Forces, Erotic Comics 2, Just Bloomed, Pirate Queens Booty, College of Erotic Sciences, Three of a Kind, Magarya, Tharnara & Juda, Nagarya, Frollo, Little Ego, Fairy Tails, Wet and Wild, Leather and Lace, Devil's Whisper, Barbarian Chicks and Demons etc.- Note: Although some of these titles sound depraved, they as a whole they aren't nearly so bad as the titles may convey... or like me you can just cut or tear out the offensive parts as much of it very well done (Why is there so much talent yet so little sensitivity, respect, empathy and humanity towards one another...especially women, portrayed sexually)???.
