The read and write speeds are incredibly fast, loading applications and transferring large files is smooth and nearly instantaneous. Whether I’m gaming, editing videos, or handling heavy workloads, this SSD keeps everything running responsively without lag. Installation was simple — the drive was recognized right away, and cloning my old drive took no time at all. I also love that it runs cool and quietly, with excellent durability and reliability from a trusted brand. The extra 2 TB of storage gives me plenty of space for games, media, and projects without worrying about running out of room. Great value for such high quality and performance! Absolutely Obliterated My Old SATA SSD - A Must-Have for Gamers
As a PC builder and heavy gamer, my old SATA SSD was becoming a serious bottleneck for my i7-12700K and RTX 5070 Ti system. I chose the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB to be my new primary OS and games drive, and the difference is staggering. This isn't just an upgrade; it's a complete transformation. Real-World Performance: The Numbers Don't Lie The specs are impressive (up to 7,250 MB/s read), but the real-world results are what matter. Here’s what I saw after cloning my Windows 11 Pro installation and my main games over: Windows Boot Time: Cut from ~25 seconds to under 8 seconds. Game Load Times: Loading into my save file in Cyberpunk 2077 went from over 30 seconds to about 9 seconds. Levels in other demanding games load almost instantly. File Transfers: Moving a 100GB game folder from my old drive to this one took just a couple of minutes, a task that used to take over 15 minutes. The PCIe Gen 4 interface is the key here. Day-to-day use is incredibly snappy, and the drive doesn't slow down even when installing a huge game while running other programs, thanks to the Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 cache. Installation & A Note on Heatsinks The M.2 2280 form factor made installation a breeze on my ASUS PRIME Z690-P motherboard. One of the main "cons" of this drive is that it doesn't include a heatsink. This was not an issue for me, as my motherboard has its own built-in M.2 heatsinks which keep the drive running cool under load. However, if your motherboard doesn't have one, I'd recommend buying a cheap M.2 heatsink to ensure you don't get any thermal throttling during intense, long gaming sessions. Final Verdict: Worth Every Penny for a High-End Build While the Samsung 990 EVO Plus is a premium drive with a premium price, it's one of the most impactful upgrades I've ever made to my PC. The sheer speed and responsiveness it brings to the entire system are undeniable. If you have a PCIe Gen 4 compatible system and you're still using an older SATA SSD or a slower NVMe drive, this is a no-brainer. It unlocks the full potential of your other components. I've attached a photo of the drive installed on my motherboard under the heatsink. Highly recommended!

Fast, Stable High-Capacity SSD for Modern Systems
I purchased the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 4TB SSD to expand storage and improve overall system responsiveness in a desktop PC that supports PCIe Gen 4, with forward compatibility for Gen 5 slots. Intended use: Primary storage for the operating system, applications, games, and large media files. Installation and compatibility: Installation was straightforward, and the drive was immediately recognized by the system. It works seamlessly in a PCIe Gen 4x4 slot and is backward- and forward-compatible with supported systems, which adds flexibility for future upgrades. Performance: In daily use, the drive feels very fast, with quick boot times, fast file transfers, and responsive application launches. Large file operations and game loading times are noticeably improved compared to older SSDs. Performance has remained consistent during extended use without throttling issues in a well-ventilated case. Capacity and use case: The 4TB capacity is ideal for users who need substantial storage without juggling multiple drives. It comfortably handles large game libraries, creative projects, and backups in a single drive. Software and reliability: Samsung’s management software provides useful tools for drive monitoring and firmware updates. Stability has been solid, with no errors or connection issues observed. Limitations: To fully benefit from maximum speeds, a compatible motherboard and proper cooling are important. For basic use, the performance may exceed what’s strictly necessary. Overall experience: After regular use, the SSD has been reliable and consistently fast, making everyday tasks feel smooth and efficient. Conclusion: The Samsung 990 EVO Plus 4TB is a strong option for users who want high capacity, dependable performance, and compatibility with modern PCIe platforms in a single drive.

Solid SSD Upgrade That Gave My PC a Nice Boost
I picked up this Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB to upgrade one of our PCs, and it has been a really good improvement so far. Installation was simple. It slotted right into the M.2 spot and the system recognized it right away. I cloned the old drive and everything transferred without any issues. Performance has been noticeably faster. Boot times are quick, apps open almost instantly, and large file transfers feel a lot smoother than before. I’m not someone who sits and runs speed tests, but in everyday use the difference is obvious. The drive runs cool in our setup, and so far there haven’t been any hiccups or disconnects. For the price, it feels like a great value if you just want an easy speed boost or more space without messing with a bunch of cables. Overall, it has been a clean, quick upgrade that made the computer feel a lot more responsive.

High Quality
This hard drive is perfect. I put into a Acer Nitro V-15 and it worked perfectly. Sad to see the price go out but it was an awesome choice to get it before the prices went up. I had no issues installing it into my laptop and set up was fairly easy. The read and write speed is impressive and I hope it lasts me a long time. Would definitely recommend!

Blazing Fast External Storage and Essential for my Video Editing Workflows
My primary need was a portable solution for storing and actively editing large video assets and project files without cluttering the internal drives of my various Macs. It had to be fast enough to handle high-bitrate 4K footage without lag or dropped frames. The Setup: Perfect Synergy I paired the Samsung 990 EVO 1TB SSD (PCIe Gen 4x4, Gen 5x2) with a Sabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure. The combination is absolute perfection. I formatted the drive as APFS for seamless integration with the macOS ecosystem. Performance: Truly Internal-Equivalent Speed This is where the 990 EVO truly shines. The speed is lightning fast. I can confidently edit multi-track video projects directly off this external drive. Real-World Speed: The performance is so responsive that it is virtually indistinguishable from having the SSD installed directly inside the computer. This incredible speed and efficiency have been a game-changer, allowing me to jump between desktop and laptop Macs instantly without asset transfer delays. Reliability: I've used faulty external drives in the past, leading to lost work. This Samsung drive is rock-solid and has not given me a single error or performance hiccup. Investment Value and Reliability Given its performance and build quality, the Samsung 990 EVO is an incredibly effective and valuable investment for any creative professional. It offers the speed and reliability needed for production work at a price point that makes it a smart choice over proprietary external solutions. I fully intend to purchase more of these drives as my storage needs grow. Final Verdict If you are a Mac user or professional needing portable, internal-equivalent SSD speeds for resource-intensive tasks like video editing, the Samsung 990 EVO is the gold standard. Highly recommended.

Great ssd for the price
Great ssd. Didn't come with a mounting screw but the issue was easily fixed with a scrap screw around the house. Speed and performance was really good and installation was super easy. Perfect for use with high speed data transfer

Working good with no issue
Bought to replace a 500gb NVMe ssd on my original build. Easy to install and got a great price on it before the AI robbery started. Would recommend purchasing since Samsung makes good products. Just to let users know, this was manufactured by Micron based on what was printed on packaging and device. Micron makes great memory products so that's another plus to purchase this.
