Good family escape game
My 9 year old loved this. The puzzles were slightly challenging but solvable for her and we had an enjoyable time playing it together.

Excellent family game for all ages!
Excellent! Played this with family, children aged 8 and 10, both really invested in the story and puzzles, and grandparents who were as interested and thoroughly enjoyed the game! Will be trying the other themes.

A high-energy alternative to the silent escape room grind
I’m a big fan of the Exit and Unlock series. My idea of a good night is hyper-focusing on a deck of cards to solve a logic puzzle. But Murder on the Dance Floor is a completely different animal. While those escape room games are basically a silent logic test for the brain, this Boogieland 77 kit is a social explosion. It shifts the focus from purely solving brain-teasers to actually interacting with the people in the room. The 70s disco theme is loud and kitschy, and the box is surprisingly crammed with props. You get murder weapon markers, trophies, and name cards that make the table look like a crime scene rather than just a stack of puzzle cards. I stepped into the Sammy C Quinn host role, which was a nice change of pace since the host isn't a suspect. It meant I could actually facilitate the clues and keep the QR code music going while everyone else got into their characters. The best part for an Unlock veteran is the longevity. Most escape boxes are one-and-done e-waste, but this kit has three alternative endings. You can actually reset the mystery for a different group and it won't be spoiled. It's a bit of a relief to have an evening that's more about "noisy banter" and accusations than staring in silence at a confusing cipher. If you love the thrill of a mystery but want to actually talk to your friends for a change, this is a solid pivot.

Quality family time
Really enjoyed doing this as a great family activity with an 8 and 11 year old. We found one task early on quite difficult and I was a little worried it would be too tough but once we got through that the rest were just the right level of challenge. It’s beautifully illustrated with lots of fun props and great that it is all made from card and paper. Thoroughly recommend as a fun family activity.

Great murder mystery dinner party game
At £14.99 this murder mystery game is good value for money. I’ve had a good look through the instructions as it seems easy to play and they are clear and concise. My only disappointment is it’s for 5+ players as normally there is only ever 4 of us but we will plan a night to play! The quality of the cardboard envelope and items is really good and worth the money. I like that some things are in sealed envelopes to be opened during play so I’m not sure if this could be reused or would need to be passed on to new people to play.

Brilliant family fun
Bought to create a game night on New Year’s Eve. 3 adults a 12 year old and a 9!year old had a fantastic night chatting, working together and sharing. The quality is excellent the images on each section of the story are beautiful and really relate to the story - everyone loved it. Only one very very minor issue one of the activities asks you to plot onto a grid and two A6 plots are in the instructions - this did not detract from the resilt. What is fantastic is that you cannot cheat you have to work through each challenge to solve it. The whole family loved it and because we took time it lasted all night.

We played this as a family with our youngest being 7. This was fun for all of us. The illustrations are beautiful. I appreciate that the publishers include a link to be able to remake anything that may damaged in play. The quality is great but I did print extra because the items were so cool, my kids wanted some to play with, like the jewel, potions, and key. When we play these, we have a different person lead each puzzle. The difficulty varied with each puzzle so it worked out beautifully for our family dynamic. Our youngest was able to lead a few without help. I recommend this for family fun! It is replayable so we put it away for a couple months and do it again.

Fun, fun, fun. You need to have more than four people to make it interesting. The ability to scan the QR code and have online clue experiences was nice. Looking to buy another.

I love escape rooms and escape room games, so I thought I'd give this one a try. I was quite surprised at the quality and artwork, especially since everything fits in just a small envelope. I also loved the variety of games as well. There are a few things that use qr codes (the intro and a music playlist), though I really don't feel like either were needed as you can easily play without them. I did enjoy the extra touch though. I don't want to give too much away, but as far as the play through, I thought the games were a little on the easier side and one of the games with the potions I thought was a little lacking on the labeling. I also thought the hints were totally useless as they mostly just restated what the game was. I also wish that they had a slightly different set up for the solutions, because you can't check the solutions without seeing the entire page. We ended up giving the booklet to someone that wasn't playing and would just ask them if we were right, that way nothing was spoiled for us. Even with with the things I didn't like, we still had a blast playing and I could easily see someone playing this as a group or even solo play. I thought the value was well worth it.
