Auto Exterior Attachment Tape, 1/4 in x 5 ft, Heavy Duty Double-Sided Automotive Tape for Car Trim, Moldings, Emblems, and Badges (38582)

This tape holds my window vents secure on the exterior of the car... I was a little skeptical at first how well it would hold but I let it sit 24 hours before I drove to let it set for the recommended time limit... I even had a little issue initially sticking it to the car and had to reposition but it held even after i had to remove the vent and restick it... it is sticky enough as long as you let it set for the recommended time so it holds perfect when following the instructions... It is a good size for the window vent but it could be thicker if needed but you just have to get the 1/2" one if you prefer but this did the job and stuck just right... the thickness is what it states on the package and doesnt bulge out ... it looks nice and sleek ... I didn't have to remove anything so I can't speak for the ease of removal... the tape is quality and it arrived well before the time it said it would take which I was surprised since anything shipped from Michigan seems to take a week longer than anywhere else in the USA...

Used to install window rain shields on my truck. Worked perfect. Was easy to mold around the bends of the item I was installing. Great price and seems to be good quality. Seems thick and durable. Happy with the quality for the price.

When your home security plastic sensors start to fall off your doors and windows, you will need this to stick them back on. That's what I used this tape for and it worked perfectly, seems to be sticking for a long time. Save the left-over (it's much more than you need) for the next time it happens.

I have purchased many different types of double-sided tape since I own a business for PC and Electronics repair. When repairing electronics, double-sided tape comes in handy more often than not when you don't want to resort to glue. I have used Swelder and other brands, but I always knew 3M was the best, because whenever I purchased products with 3M already applied, I was confident the object would stay in place. So I finally purchased a roll of dedicated 3M double-sided tape. This adhesive tape is pretty incredible. It doesn't work on every surface; I've had some issues with plastic bonding well. However, in most cases, 3M's exterior Attachment Tape is a great solution for holding something in place. I've used it inside laptops and desktops to hold components securely in place. I've used it on wood and metal. It's overall a great product. I have to purchase a smaller, thinner version for use inside phones and mobile devices, but nearly anything outside of that, this tape will most likely do the job. It isn't like normal tape. It has a gluey/bubblegum like consistency, looking like cement. Because of this, it's slightly malleable. For my applications, I prefer it like that. Pressure allows it to squish slightly and form around the object. Also, when applied it isn't impossible to get off like some glues. Overall, from now on, I will stick with 3M because they have never let me down, while other manufacturers have. Highly recommended.

Worked perfect & strong hold for emblem I had to attach on a fender!

Used this to reattach mirror glass that had fallen out on one of our cars. Even in temps around 40 degrees, it had great adhesion and shows no sign of coming loose. The strips were much thinner than I expected, but overall I'm satisfied

I needed to reattach the long strip that keeps rain out above both doors on my Honda fit. It's been a few weeks and it's still completely stuck down with this stuff. I followed the instructions to wipe both surfaces down with alcohol first. Easy to install.

This was a fail for attaching a license plate holder to a vinyl bumper. all surfaces were carefully washed and cleaned including rubbing alcohol. Lasted about a week including highway driving until the vehicle was parked with front facing the sun on a 90° day and it got hot and fell off. YMMV. luckily the car wasn't in motion. update- i am adding a star back as I switched to VHB tape which worked great and i think this was just the wrong application for this product but the product itself may be fine for other uses.
