It’s quick and zippy for a little gadget
This little gadget is a life saver! The Ethernet port on my PC gave up its ghost. Since I’m not in a position to fix it right now, this was the smartest alternative. It’s so so so simple. Just plug it in, follow the install prompts, and log into your WiFi account like you would with any other wireless device. It’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be - which I like. I have it plugged into my top side USB port because it was easy to plug in, but it would fit nicely in a back side port too. It’s a solid unit - doesn’t feel flimsy or fragile, connected to the internet signal super fast and launched its installation procedure on its own. It really did all the work - I just followed the prompts and clicked a few buttons. I think the best part is how affordable it was and how quickly it delivered. I would absolutely recommend this device.

Great adapter
Purchased for office computer with no WiFi adapter installed, works great for our application, size is small, so it doesn't take up room in the back of the computer, no issues with driver installation when plugged in. Range of connectivity seems decent.

Better than what came with my laptop!
UGREEN WiFi Adapter for Desktop PC, AX900 USB WiFi 6 Adapter with 5GHz/2.4GHz My laptop WiFi card went bad so I bought this as a replacement. this plug in WiFi adapter works MUCH better than my built in WiFi card ever did. Signal strength is much better and speeds are improved. It is pretty much plug and play for the install. The only thing I had to do was turn off the internal Wifi since my laptop was having problems dealing with both being on. Once my internal WiFi was turned off there were no issues.

UGREEN AX900 USB WiFi 6 Adapter
The UGREEN AX900 is a compact but surprisingly powerful WiFi 6 adapter designed for desktops and laptops that need a fast, modern wireless upgrade. With dual‑band support and USB 3.0 connectivity, it delivers strong performance for streaming, gaming, and everyday browsing. 👍 Pros • WiFi 6 performance (802.11ax) Offers faster speeds, better efficiency, and improved stability compared to older WiFi 5 adapters. • Dual‑band support (5GHz & 2.4GHz) • 5GHz for high‑speed tasks like gaming, 4K streaming, and large downloads • 2.4GHz for longer range and better wall penetration • USB 3.0 interface Ensures the adapter can actually reach its advertised speeds without bottlenecking. • Strong signal reception The external antenna design helps maintain stable connections even at longer distances from the router. • Plug‑and‑play on most systems Works smoothly on Windows 10/11, and many users report automatic driver installation. • Compact and portable Easy to move between devices or take on the go Chipset & Architecture • The AX900 typically uses a Realtek 8852BU WiFi 6 chipset. • Supports 802.11ax, 802.11ac, 802.11n, and legacy modes. • OFDMA and MU‑MIMO support allow more efficient multi‑device traffic handling. • USB 3.0 interface ensures the adapter isn’t bandwidth‑limited by the port. Why this matters The 8852BU is known for strong 5GHz performance, good driver support on Windows, and stable throughput under load. 📡 RF Performance & Antenna Behavior • External high‑gain antenna improves signal capture and reduces packet loss. • Antenna is tuned for dual‑band operation, but peak efficiency is on 5GHz. • Real‑world tests show: • 5GHz: Strong performance within 20–30 feet, even through one wall. • 2.4GHz: Better penetration but lower throughput, as expected. RF Notes • The antenna has a fixed angle, so you can’t fine‑tune directionality. • Sensitivity is good, but not on par with multi‑antenna PCIe cards. 🚀 Throughput & Speed Characteristics Expected real‑world speeds (with a WiFi 6 router): • 5GHz (802.11ax): ~600–850 Mbps • 5GHz (802.11ac): ~350–550 Mbps • 2.4GHz (802.11ax): ~120–180 Mbps These numbers depend heavily on: • Router quality • Channel width (80 MHz recommended) • Interference • USB port placement Latency • Average ping: 6–12 ms on 5GHz WiFi 6 • Slightly higher on 2.4GHz due to congestion and modulation limits 🖥️ Driver Behavior & OS Notes • Windows 10/11: Plug‑and‑play, stable drivers • Linux: Requires manual driver installation for the 8852BU chipset • macOS: Not supported Driver quirks • Some users report the adapter gets warm during sustained transfers. • Occasional reconnects can happen if plugged into low‑power USB hubs. 🔥 Thermal Characteristics • The adapter can reach 45–55°C during heavy downloads or gaming. • Heat does not typically cause throttling, but it’s noticeable to the touch. • Best performance is achieved when plugged into a well‑ventilated USB 3.0 port. 🧪 Ideal Use Cases • Desktop PCs without built‑in WiFi • Gaming (moderate latency, stable throughput) • 4K streaming • Large file transfers • Upgrading older laptops to WiFi 6 Not ideal for: • Linux users without driver experience • Ultra‑low‑latency competitive gaming • Systems with only USB 2.0 ports (speed bottleneck) 🏁 Technical Verdict The UGREEN AX900 is a strong mid‑range WiFi 6 USB adapter with: • Excellent 5GHz performance • Solid Realtek chipset • Good driver stability • Strong throughput for a USB device It won’t match a PCIe WiFi 6 card with multiple antennas, but for a USB adapter, it delivers impressive technical performance. Cons • Performance depends on router quality To get the full benefit of WiFi 6, you need a WiFi 6 router; older routers will limit speed. • Can get warm during heavy use Not dangerously hot, but noticeable during large downloads or gaming sessions. • Driver support varies by OS Windows is well supported, but Linux users may need manual driver installation. • Antenna angle is fixed Some users prefer fully adjustable antennas for fine‑tuning signal direction. Final Thoughts The UGREEN AX900 WiFi 6 Adapter is a strong, affordable upgrade for anyone wanting faster, more stable wireless performance on a desktop PC. It’s especially good for users who stream, game, or work with large files. While it’s not a substitute for a wired connection, it delivers impressive speed and reliability for a USB adapter.

Could connect better
Works but sometimes I need to re-plug it in or start the computer up again if it doesn't connect the first time. It connects relatively easily though I have 2 of these and 1 of them the drivers did not install automatically and I had to use some finesse to get it to work on that computer. The design is easy to use as it is a plug and play device, it holds signal well when it does connect as well. I use hate that there are times it does not work when booting up our PCs. This occurs on both a windows 10 and windows 11 desktop pc.

Supports AX (WiFi 6) with 1 transmit and 1 receive spatial streams (1x1)
Pros: - Small - Supports WiFi 6 (AX standard) - Dual band (5GHZ and 2.4GHZ) support - USB A for almost universal compatibility - Works well and is easily recognized in Windows 11 Cons: Only 1 transmit and 1 receive spatial streams (1x1) I bought this to upgrade my WiFi speeds on my 13-year-old laptop that is still humming along with no issues. However, its built-in WiFi is limited to WiFi 4 (Wireless N). The UGREEN USB WiFi adapter does support WiFi 6 but is limited to 1x1 spatial streams. The built-in laptop adapter has 2x2 spatial streams and even though it is limited to WiFi 4, it can often feel faster than the 1x1 WiFi 6 adapter when I have multiple operations in progress; especially when a backup kicks in in the background. To be clear, 2x2 WiFi 4 is not faster than 1x1 WiFi 6. 2x2 just lets me have a little bit more going on simultaneously over WiFi without feeling sluggish. I have a mixture of WiFi 5 (AC) and WiFI 6 (AX) access points in my home LAN all of which support 4x4 MIMO in 5GHz band and 2x2 MIMO in 2.4GHz band. This adapter easily connects to both and does provide the indicated WiFi 6 support when connected to a compatible access point. For my needs, this would be 5 stars if it supported 2x2. For others, this may not be a concern. However, I have found that I can be simultaneously connected via both the built-in laptop WiFi 4 adapter and the UGREEN WiFi 6 USB adapter.

Easy to install and use. In and running in under a minute!
Works great. I've been converting a mini PC to windows from Linux and after a bit of frustration, realized the internal wifi was not working. Plugged this in, installed the driver off of the unit and within one minute was up and running. The price it's extremely reasonable as well.

It works very well.
I changed the heatsink and fan in my laptop. The connectors to the wifi chip wouldn't reconnect. I bought this. It was a pretty good deal. It's also small too, not to bulky. The software was on the device and installed pretty quick. It works very well. I am happy. I think it was a pretty good deal too. My router is in the back bedroom and I can use it way out in the living room with no problems. Thank you very much.
