Excellent lock carrier even for other brands of locks
I don't love writing reviews but as I come back to buy another one of these lock carriers for my wife, I see so many negative reviews. I use this with my OnGuard Brute lock which is quite heavy and I've been using this carrier daily everywhere I ride in Chicago. Admittedly, I will agree that the Velcro straps aren't the best, but unless you are ripping at them with a knife or sawing at them with your keys, I don't see how people claim that they are failing so quicklyIt takes less than 5 seconds to remove the lock from the carrier.......and maybe 5-10 seconds to put it back in after unlocking my bike. I only actually only undo the Velcro that secures the body of the u-bar lock and just slide the lock through the other one. Overall, this is leaps and bounds better than the frame mounted lock carriers that I have tried to use.The only con that I can really think of is that I wish that the connection point to the handlebar was a bit more heavy duty. With just one screw attaching this to the bar, I wish they would have "over engineered" this a little more.Ease of use - 5 starsDurability - 4 stars

Good, but I wish all Kryptonite standard brackets were this good.
I have installed the Kryptonite handlebar lock holder on the entire bicycle "fleet," five holders so far. I've had only one that worked itself loose, and it was easy enough to fix. I think the best aspect of the Transit H-Bar is the ready visibility and accessibility of your lock. No more accidentally biking away without your lock. I am holding back a star because I've had to purchase these lock holders to replace the extremely flimsy bracket holder that comes with the Kryptolock resettable combination U-lock. It doesn't seem exactly fair that you pay a premium for Kryptonite's U-lock only to be given a bracket that guarantees it will fall into the street, at best delaying your trip and at worst being totally lost forever, so then you pay a separate premium for a holder that actually works. I've noticed the other members of Kryptonite's U-lock family come with significantly better brackets so it's not as if they couldn't have designed one for the combo. I'd hold back a star anyway as the instructions are a bit obtuse and written in very small print. I noticed too that whatever factory in China makes these, they use a very cheap, easily stripped hex nut and hex wrench. Also, they consistently put the hex nut in the wrong way in the package. The bolt is plainly supposed to slip into the hex shaped recess, but five different times the package comes with that assembled backwards, leading to the possibility that that error will be perpetuated by the end user.

Perfect For Me
The bike mount the u-locks come with didn't work with my bike size and frame shape. I finally looked around for an alternative and I was happy to see the company fixed it's own problem. My bike lock is secure and easy enough to use.

Working Well So Far
Trying to carry a big U-lock is a tremendous pain in whatever your reproductive organs are, and most of us just give up and throw the heavy mother in a backpack. This thing is a minor hassle to install, due to the use of a very small and probably difficult-to-replace screw that holds the mount on to the handlebar (thumbscrews are always recommended for this sort of apparatus), but once it's on, it seems to stay.I've had it about a month, knocking around on urban rides and mild trails on a hybrid bike, and it's not wobbling or coming loose. It looks stupid, but it's the best solution I've found so far.Works even with a headlight on either side of the gooseneck, so it doesn't take up a lot of lateral space.

Strap broke on first ride
Bought a heavy Kryptonite U-lock after having two bikes stolen. However this $100 lock didn't come with a mount to attach it to my bike, so how am I supposed to transport it with my bike? So I had it hanging off the handlebars, and then one day I went over a bump and the lock flipped over and locked my steering and I went down and was badly inured and it took threelnths to recover. Thanks. So then I discovered they started making this mount. So I put it on and attached the lock. On the very first ride, witjin half an hour, not even on bumpy terrain, just riding on the road, one of the straps broke.Hopeless.

Five stars for design, two stars for durability
Best way I’ve found so far to carry a U-lock on my bike which doesn’t have a rack. I’ve had three of these so far and they work well until they break. Unfortunately they only last about four to six months each before the plastic cracks and/or the straps break. Wish Kryptonite would make these out of metal with heavy-duty rubber straps; then they’d truly have a great product on their hands.

Needs improvement
Followed the instructions to cut the rubber pad to size for my handlebars....don't do this! Try the full size pad first, because after cutting mine I found it really didn't fill the space between the holder and my handlebars. Luckily I had a leftover rubber pad from something else that I made work. I do appreciate Kryptonite making this available because I tried various locations on my bike with their standard frame lock holder and just couldn't make it work without impinging access to other features.

Sturdy lock carrier
The carrier was easy to install. It works well with my old U-lock. The lock itself rattles a little on bumpy roads but seems very secure. It meets my expectations.
