Dapol Model Railway Scammell Scarab Kit - OO Scale 1/76

Nice little kit with a surprisingly large number of items to glue in place, you either love or hate doing this but take your time and paint each item before assembly

Well, like most of these Dapol kits, this traces its history back through Airfix to the defunct Kitmaster concern, so the tool is about 50 years old. I've done most of a build based on my recent purchase. The only real issue was that the cab halves didn't fully fit together, even with heavy clamping. I've filled the cab roof. It's a nice touch offering the choice of a BR or Watneys vehicle, which makes this a near indispensable purchase for anyone who builds 1/76 scale trucks or has a British layout that includes a Watney's pub or a BR goods yard. OK, it's got no glazing (it never did) but in these days of Humbrol Clearfix and Microscale Krystal Klear that's become an easy fix.

I built this way back in the 60s and loved it it goes together quite well but the instructions are not good looks like a bad photocopy

Brother in law loved it and cant wait to paint it etc

Nothing to do with seller who provided excellent service. This kit is rubbish - instructions absolutely useless, badly moulded and kit very difficult to construct. Won't be buying Dapol again.
