Perfect Tent! LOTS of Headroom. GREAT!!!
This is a GREAT tent! And I mean REALLY GREAT! I really didn't think I would ever find a backpacking tent I liked better than my Naturehike Vic but when I am on more popular trails and think I might need a little more privacy this tent will be my go to. It's light and easy to put up and take down but what I really love about it is that it has a higher ceiling than most backpacking tents which gives you room to change clothes inside your tent rather than trying to hide behind it. This thing feels so roomy inside. It has pockets on either end and an additional shelf you can add to the ceiling for storage - but I didn't need that so I left it at home. I also love it that this tent is so open. You have two big, oversized doors that you can open to let the breeze flow through. I love that. It gives me the feeling of being completely outdoors while still giving me the security of being sheltered. I also like the fact that the rainfly is completely removable. On nice nights this is great because the further you get from civilization the brighter the stars. I love looking up at night and seeing so many stars! Another thing I liked about this tent is that the zippers seem so much more durable than the zippers on most backpacking tents. They don't hang or snag and there are two zipper pulls on each door so they zip both ways. This is a BEAUTIFULLY made and BEAUTIFULLY designed tent. There aren't enough adjectives to describe how great it is. I can't wait to take it to Colorado and enjoy a week of Rocky Mountain High's in this tent. It is perfect!

Great tent
It's an amazing tent. Easy to set up, lightweight (weighs about 4lb), feels sturdy enough, and the perfect size for two people. My problem with most 2-people tent is that they are actually way too small for two adults to sleep comfortably. This one is perfect. It's tight, yes, but it doesn't feel too cramped. There's doors on each side, which is great. I love the way the zippers are constructed. They don't pull on the fabric so it's more durable. I'm glad I got it, worth the money!

Well designed tent!
The UL Star River 2 has an unusual component design that I love. 3 pieces allow you to separate the tent for packing purposes or distributing the weight between 2 backpackers. As usual, the tent footprint is included, which is always a plus. The tent is super easy to set up, with color coded pole tips and matching corner grommets. The 2 way zippers on the doors make for a large entry on both sides. The vertical ends of the tent, creates more space inside. Long mesh pockets at the head & foot are perfect for storing small items . The rain fly can open in different ways, with 2 zippers on each side. You can even put each side up as an awning, to allow even more ventilation. I really like the gear tray that hooks in the vestibule, in case you have items that you want to keep clean and not right on the ground . The zippers all work smoothly and the seams & stitching are also on point. This tent is a great value for all of the features and design. Note : This is NOT a 4th season tent. I just set it up while I was camping recently and took the photos at that time.

Almost there.
I have backpacked with this 5 times now. Pros: The tent is easy to set up; roomy for 1 person but too small for 2; light weight for its size; has a door on each side; I like the color coated pole tips; I have enough room to change my clothes inside; roomy enough to store my gear inside when we have heavy rain; glad it has a tent footprint included. Cons: Does not seem to be water repellent as morning dew created a very wet tent that did not repel the rain as well as I expected; there is one spot at the top that water pools; could have used a wider top pole to stretch the walls out- I felt like the walls were closing in on me; the biggest con is the rain fly design. Sure you can hold it up with your tent poles, but who puts a tent stake directly in the center of the the door opening? That makes it so difficult to get in and out of when my tent is soaked with dew or it is raining. The rain fly could have used a much better design. While I have used the tent multiple times, I am glad I purchased it when it was 50% off, otherwise I would have returned it.

Great for summer camping
This tent is easy to erect and comes complete with really nice stakes and all the other things you need - a ground cloth, the fly, the tent, and an easy to erect frame on which the whole thing hangs. The instructions are really just pictograms, but it goes up easily and quickly. You have to sort how to orient the fly as it's not symmetrical, but the frame is color coded to the connections on the tent. I did a trial run at home, then had no trouble on a long bike trip. The downside is that this is very much a warm weather tent, as it's basically a mosquito net with a rain fly. Cold wind blows right into the tent and you have no real protection from that. I pinned the fly as tightly to the ground as possible, and still had an issue. I tested it in Florida, and it worked great. In the cold, windy Atlantic coast of Ireland I was wishing for something a little more substantial. After getting rained on it dried quickly in the breeze and was easy to pack up. The split storage system means you can distribute the tent across different panniers. I'm not sure how big an advantage that turns out to be!

Lightweight Comfort and Smart Design
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The Naturehike Star River 2 UL tent and mat combo impressed me with its ultra-lightweight build and compact packing size—perfect for backpacking. The materials feel durable, and the setup instructions are clear and simple. The included mat fits perfectly and adds comfort on rough ground. Overall, it’s ideal for minimalist campers who don’t want to sacrifice comfort. Why I chose it: I picked this over other options because of its weight-to-durability ratio, and the great value of having a dedicated mat included for the same model.

not yet used it ..so this 5 star review is on the fact that it's ultra light and packs down small. and in the better UK weather it will be used and hopefully I'll back up this review. looking forward to using it.
