ORS Olive Oil Built-In Protection Full Application No-Lye Hair Relaxer Extra Strength

My hair is naturally ringlet-curly, as you can see from the before photo, and in the past I have used the regular version of this brand's relaxer on much longer hair with complete success! Recently, I used straightening irons for the first time on a brand new bob haircut to see how it would look. I loved it so much I decided to use the permanent chemical relaxer I knew worked. Decided to try the extra strength and was not disappointed! Left it on for about half the time it took the regular, which was convenient. My hair is bleached on the top, (quite some time ago... I would NOT recommend anyone do this treatment on freshly bleached or coloured hair), so I was EXTREMELY careful and left the conditioner on for more than double the recommended time as well as using my normal conditioner afterwards, also for double the usual time. Hair came out silky, smooth, and very straight! I am very happy.

Itz the only home perm I would use.

It's a good relaxer works better then some of the other products I've tried.

My all-time favorite hair relaxer. Normally, I prefer extra strength for my coarse hair. I will buy normal version too if the extra strength is out of stock. I highly recommend this hair relaxer. This hair relaxer includes latex gloves too. I've used this hair relaxer for the last 15 years.

It's been a long time since I bought this particular product and I have never had a problem with it until now. I ran out of the relaxer halfway through finishing. I don't know if they reduce the amount of relaxer that they give you but I have never ran out of any kind of relaxer halfway through. I will never buy this product again. What a waste of $10.

I received my package in a very bad condition. I can’t use the product

First and foremost, I'm a dude! And I used this product on my pube-like beard. So coarse and wiry you get a handful when grabbing it (see pic1)... Yuk! I've been using "straightening" products, oils, balms, waxes, and whatever concoction that promised a straighter beard. No luck! So I got this straightener. I applied it very carefully to the whole beard and started the timer, knowing that I should not exceed 18 minutes per the instructions. The tingling began a few minutes into it, then got painful at 10 minutes, at 12 minutes it was clear that this stuff needs to come off my face pronto as the tingling was now a serious burning feeling. Into the shower I rush and used the supplied neutralizing shampoo. There was an instant feeling of fire when shampoo hit beard. Exothermic reaction?.. When I was done washing off, beard felt non existent! I looked at the floor and there was no hair so I seriously though my beard melted away! When I grab it, I felt a few hairs that fit between 2 fingers, nothing like the old handful. Looking in the mirror, it was thankfully still there but had absolutely no body and no frizz, and was instantly almost an inch longer!!! (see pic2). A few days later, beard is about 75% straighter, had gained a little more body and the burning pain had completely gone as the skin healed. It's been a month now and I am very happy with the results, and no longer have to use solid waxes to keep it neat. A simple nice smelling balm is all I need. I would definitely recommend this product to dudes with lousy beards as it comes with everything needed and does work. But you must ABSOLUTELY neutralize when the tingling gets out of hand as YOU WILL BURN YOUR SKIN if it remains on too long. You will feel like you had a serious sunburn where the product was for several days, and it will hurt if you use hot water for about a couple of weeks. You have been warned!
