Works fine but I get complaints of echos sometimes.

I'm going to compare this to two Jabra Speak units that I have - a 510 and a 750. TL;DR: This is a great blend of the features of the 750 with the speaker/mic quality of the 510, all at a lower cost. This is a good size for a desktop conference speaker - about 4" around. The grille is cloth, which is nice, and it has great soft rubber feet that are cushy enough to isolate vibration from the desk surface. All of the buttons are good size and have a good tactile feel/response when pressed. The mute button is large and easy to quickly hit when needed. I like that this has a blend of both wired and wireless use. In both cases, setup was seamless - I plugged the USB cord and/or dongle and it was immediately found and set up. I like that this can be wireless so it's easy to drop on a large table away from your laptop. Sound wise, it's very close to the sound of the Speak 510. The 750 is better, but it's a far more expensive device. From the remote end, callers were unable to really distinguish with and of the three, so the mics are fantastic. Lastly, playing music will not sound good; it's tuned for voice, and is very good at that. To be fair, the Jabra 750 is only marginally better, but none of these kinds of devices sound like a good Bluetooth speaker intended for that. Note: the mute button doesn't activate the MS Teams mute function, but it mutes the mic on the device. Not a big deal, but the Jabra units will also action Teams, so people can see you are muted. The good news is that the light ring on the Newline unit will light up red when muted. But it can still create confusion on the muted/not muted thing on virtual meetings. I did not test this with Zoom, Webex or other options. The one thing that would have been great is if it came with a case. Both Jabras came with a neoprene case so it's protected in your bag. It's not something that detracts from the 5 star performance, but something to consider if you will travel with it.

I'm surprised at the number of people that take remote calls using their laptop's poor microphone and speakers. While they're built-in (and cheap!), they sound terrible. This is a very high quality speaker and microphone, works well for Team and Zoom calls, and I love that I get good sound pick-up even if I'm not right in front of my laptop. For example, as an "inexpensive conference room" option, I might leave my laptop across a table, point the web-cam at two of us sitting on the other side, and then use this speaker/mic closer to us so that the other folks on the call can hear us both. High quality materials, multiple connectivity options, worthy of your money!

The NewPie 91 works fine when you’re not on a call, but for something advertised as a conference speaker, it’s almost useless during actual meetings. The audio randomly cuts out whenever I use the built-in mic — people can hear me, but I can’t hear them. The only workaround I’ve found is switching to my Logitech camera mic or my laptop mic, otherwise the speaker stops working completely. I’ve tried reaching out to the company multiple times for support and never got a reply. The 1-year warranty feels meaningless. Overall, disappointing experience — I wouldn’t recommend it.

The NEWPIE 91 Conference speakerphone is a quality device that functions perfectly right out of the box. The quality of the built in speakers is apparent from the crystal clear, AI assisted vocal sounds. I have not had a better speaker phone for video conferencing in my office. I initially topped off the battery charge with a USB C charger in about 1/2 hour. I have yet to run it down to the point where it signals low battery. The controls are simple and the bluetooth pairs quickly to either my desktop or iPhone. I have not tried the daisy chain capability since our office is small and don't expect the need. I have been impressed with the pick up and told the voice reception is exceptional from others in the chat. I see no issues with the rather pricey device but from what I have experienced it is well worth the cost. It is a truly plug and play get-up and go device.
