I can’t take regular energy gels for long rides, so I decided to try this Vermont maple syrup—and it’s been a game changer. The flavor is delicious, just like real maple syrup annd has the same consistency ans maple syrup. These give me the perfect amount of energy to power through long rides without any stomach issues. I also love that it comes in convenient individual packages that are easy to pack and use on the go. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a more natural endurance fuel

Easy to open mid run. Literal syrup. Delicious. Definitely feel a difference when I take them during long runs. Fun to switch up with other fuels to beat texture. I take 1 every half hour. Bonus is you can use left over packets for pancakes and waffles. Long narrow pouch fits nicely in pockets or running belts. Only downside is if you have to carry your trash with you, you might get sticky pockets.

I bought after seeing someone use the product for running on a YouTube video and it sounded interesting enough to try for myself. I was surprised at the flavor and the viscosity of the syrup. It tastes very good and isn’t as thick as I was expecting. Easy to drink / eat while moving. Not over sweet. Doesn’t cause me any GI issues during my runs. I tried it on a 12 hour run event where I got 42 miles and I used it a few times with no issues. Packet isn’t super easy to open while running with my teeth but I don’t think it was designed for that so I can slight the product for it. Will buy again and offer to my friends who are curious.

I do a lot of distance running and cycling, and I've been trying to find an energy gel that doesn't make me sick. The Gu's and Hammer Gels taste funny or are too viscous for me to suck down while exercising. When a friend suggested I drink maple syrup I laughed because the mental image of me chugging down a bottle of syrup during a run is rather funny. So I gave it a try anyway. I've done 4 long runs (>10 miles) with these and they've worked out very well. They are easy to suck down while running even when it's below freezing outside (when it's below freezing, Gu/Clif gels are like rocks) and don't seem to make me feel nauseous after an hour of exercising. My energy has been at a decent enough level so I feel that I won't hit that sugar crash I seem to do with some energy gels. They're about as messy as the Gu's are over my fingers but unlike them, when I lick my fingers clean (yes, I am that runner) of the precious gels, I feel happier because I'm thinking of waffles and how delicious waffles will be when I finish. Yes, it's delusional - but after 90 minutes of exercise I'd rather cling to the hope that there'll be post-race waffles to look forward to versus the normal stuff. The only downside is the price. $45 a box comes out to $2.25 per unit - double the cost compared to the generic Gu's. But you can't put a price on quality taste and treating your GI system well. And as I gear up for 3 fall marathons, I look forward to sweet delicious syrup powering my runs.
