Slice 10518 Craft Knife, Finger-Friendly Edge, Safer Choice, Never Rusts, Lasts 11x Longer Than Metal, Precision Cutting, Never-Lost Safety Cap

I purchased this craft knife to use for creating fine lines when creating colored pencils on drafting film. Using the edge (not the sharp part), the pencil color can be gently removed for crisp fine lines where needed. Replacement blades in various shapes and thicknesses are available, too. It has a slide down sleeve to cover the blade when not in use that can be slid up and turned to stay in place when using. I had previously purchased one that you had to keep a button pressed down to use and the design of this one is SO much better and more comfortable to use. I'm sure it has many other uses but it's Fabulous for using in colored pencil drawings on drafting film!

I picked up the fine tip seam ripper blades to use with this handle. As expected of a craft knife, the blades are held rigidly for precision control in a non-magnetic housing. The sleeve doesn't always stay locked in either position but I don't worry about it popping off like the xacto knife cap.

I really love this blade! Cuts easily and is lightweight. My ONLY complaint is the orange safety shield. You can move it back out of the way but it doesn't lock into place, so it'll try to get in my way as I work. I ended up pulling it off completely...

I wanted this to be the solution to all my teacher problems... I love that the cap is built-in so my students don't lose them. However, these do not cut cardboard as cleanly or easily as I had hoped. My students are struggling to use them and we have snapped 3 blades in only one week of school. With the high cost of replacement, I do not think these are a viable solution for use in the classroom. I love that they are less likely to cut fingers, but I cannot keep up with the broken blades. This would work much better on paper or for at-home use.

Ok this is a great tool I use it to cut cb out material as well as colored pencil detailing. I have to say I was surprised. Like the handle cover on knife great safety feature. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Lo más valioso de este cutter es la seguridad que brinda la cerámica para evitar que sufras un accidente por el filo de un cutter de navaja metálica. A nosotros nos sirve bien para las manualidades que hacemos y que consisten en cortar cartón, papel y cartulinas. Algo a lo que cuesta acostumbrarse es a la punta corta de cerámica para realizar los cortes. En cuanto al grueso del cartón que puede cortar nosotros lo hemos usado para cartón de cereales y cajas de galletas y corta bien en trazos rectos pero en trazos curvos cuesta trabajo. En conclusión lo que más nos gustó del producto es que la punta de cerámica previene accidentes a tus manos.

It came on time and looks just as it was described. The built in safety cover works just as it should. I do enjoy the Slice products. Even more, I enjoy NOT slicing myself! I suppose that you might if you really mishandled it. So far I’ve avoided accidents with it. And it still cuts well!
